this could legitimately be hung on the back side of the Dev Nelson Pressbox, and maybe not need to be quietly taken down 18 months later after NOTHING has been done.

I hadn't really thought about that. Will be interesting to see. Implosion would be fun. Explosion would also be fun (probably too messy?)

What construction insiders here can explain to me what's going on in the process currently? Also, when do the steel beams start going up?

The south webcam currently shows the concrete pier caps having just been placed.   The north webcam shows a drill rig beginning preparations to drill piers.    You can also see some foundations being formed in the near field of the camera.   Assuming they still intend to begin erection prior to the first game (pending availability of fabricated steel and possible safety concerns) I would expect steel to begin on the south side in as little as a week (not having seen the plans).

If you can find 2 construction workers who aren't too hungover to hook up the plumbing so the fancy cats can take a leak while they Wabash I would agree.

Pretty sure naming rights have been secured for the BTF.  BSFS Expansion will be named too.  Don't know if they've sold it, though. 

Knocking down the Dev will be great.  Doubt explosion/implosion would work, though, seeing as the new press box will be built around it.  Seems like they'll have to tear it down piecemeal so as to not disturb the new structure.  I don't know anything about construction, though.
