Will the "cool" Pinstripe Bowl K-State be on the new field at BSFS?

Yes . . . it's cool.  Currie Prevails.
NO . . . OB Wins again.

Sure hope the -OR- building is a Soccer Practice Pavilion and not an Indoor Tennis Center.

For $230mm, I'm pretty underwhelmed.  Spending $100mm messing with Bramlage & doing a hodge-podge tie-in with the south stadium seems like throwing out a lot money to fix a problem rather than just admitting it's a problem & starting over.

I would settle for the indoor facility where it is now, except a giant basement facility (60-65 dF year round which is cityscape weather) and put the outdoor practice facility on top of that. The freed up parking would basically pay for it

I don’t know the inner workings of the Bram, but adding a 360 mid-level concourse sounds complicated and expensive. I’m actually kinda surprised the price tag is only 85mil.

I like the location of the new football practice facility but I’d tie in directly to the east stands. Way more useful to install a building than just a limestone facade to finally cover up our erector set. And you’d lose less precious asphalt. A lot of that east side concourse is wasted space anyway. This project should be first on the list.

It shouldn't and won't be. Thankfully, volleyball, indoor track, and the Olympic training facility will be first. I'd assume the indoor football facility will be soon after or in conjunction with the indoor track.

I'd actually prefer that it's a tennis facility. If it isn't for tennis that means they will expand the public indoor tennis facility next to Amanda Arnold, that's dumb. They need to not have two different facilities miles apart. Also they should be near that Olympic training facility.

I don’t like the continual patching of the East side of the stadium; however, after watching the interview and follow-up video I think it is clear that Taylor is viewing this as a long-term vision with many moving parts.  I imagine the final project will be much like the West side.

Overall, I like that we are casting vision for competing at the top levels of the B12 in all sports.  We needed the basketball and football updates, but hopefully this takes our athletics program up another notch.  How awesome would it be if the Cats finished their football stadium updates before KU starts theirs?

Not probable, but very possible.

Miss this thread.

Sounding like some big money could come into the AD if a coaching change is made. Would be fun to get a hot new coach and a reno announcement shortly after.

I want Natural Grass.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Boring Friday morning, figured I would put together an MSPaint BSFS SEZ renovation that is somewhat realistic, and would give K-State one of the best/most modern on campus stadiums in the country, WITHOUT adding to capacity.

Feel free to ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer.

Lol. Those are the dividers between the field level suites. These suites would be similar to what are being put in at the newer stades like Cowboys, Mercedes Benz and US Bank.

It seems to me that the WELCOME TO K STATE sign would obstruct the view of about half the section above it.

Otherwise

Yeah, my bad. It would be similar to the LSU Tiger stadium renovation with their lit up WELCOME TO DEATH VALLEY, but it was too small to see when I did it the more realistic size.

For reference.

i would prefer it not to say welcome to k-state.  maybe "eff off loser, go home" "i hate you" would be better.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

How does that NOT add seats?

I was expecting this question, so I threw something together. If you look at the layout, you’re tearing out almost all the south end zone and building the field suites and bar lounge areas at field level. When your build up the seats above and in the corners, you build at a much steeper slope than the original seating to give better sight lines (sight lines!). Similar-ish to the north. So, looking at this overlap, you can see you’ll be losing a ton of lower level seating (and bye metal bleachers!). How many, I don’t know? I’m not a scientist. But anyway, you determine how big the upper deck is by how many seats you’ve removed in the lower level (but also added with suites and club level). And that’s it. Kind of.
