I bet the NE corner doesn't get done for awhile.   K-State elites have donated around $100 million dollars in private money towards facilities projects in the last three years.    That's a huge number for just about any school outside of a few who get a single really rich guy to donate a ton.   There's some really big name schools who have never even touched $100 million dollars in private giving towards facilities in 3 years, many of their projects are nearly 100% financed with long term debt.   K-State has done nearly $200 million dollars in facilities improvements and only needed to float $80 million in long term debt in the last three to four years.

I'm still going to meltdown.

Don't they have to do it somewhat soon with the locker room situation?

CC said funding was never a concern for NE side.  I'm hoping that is still the case.  I will admit I'm getting nervous as to when they will do the limestone wall and ribbon boards.

Funding isn't the issue. It's the real fear that the second we cut into the concrete on the east side that the government is going to step in with so many code/ada/whateves changes that they won't get done in the off season. AAALLLLLL these upgrades and added bathrooms and whatnot we've gotten so far have been planned to preemptively reduce that government punch list. For whatever reason, there is something about Vanier getting done before they can get an accurate assessment of what changes still need to be made. I don't get it, but the planning process will begin this fall. If they can figure it out during the football season then we'll have more construction next spring/summer...but the expectation is that the planning will take too long, or the list will be too long to complete and have time left to jump through last minute hoops and be able to host games.

Seems like it is only taking away tickets from students right?

I wonder since they do have to tear up a bit of that section that they will hold off on the wall until the NE side is done.   :frown:

No matter the size of the new south video board I believe that Vanier 2.0 makes it impossible to watch games from the Ag lot. Thanks for ruining that unique experience ADJC

Enough with all of this funding and 'ADA-compliant' mumbo jumbo.  Just build out a shell that looks nice and completes the bowl.  Don't build out the inside if funding is the issue.  who cares?  it's the visitor's and referees' locker rooms for god's sake.  don't connect the concourse if ADA-compliance is the issue.  folks can just use the shitters on the westside.  just throw up some party decks and cover it in limestone and call 'er a day.

My personal opinion is that this is ADJC just scaring people into giving more $.  They big money folks aren't going to let this drab out any longer than absolutely necessary, but would probably like a some more help from the little people with the dinero.

Probably true.

How much can you grandfather into ADA?   I ask because for the most part, there's nothing at BSFS besides the concrete in the lower seating bowl that's more than fifteen or sixteen years old.    So it's just hard to imagine the "older" part being that far out of compliance.

Aisle width maybe?  Maybe it's just appearance based on scale, but the aisles leading up from the floor in Bramlage seem to be about 50-60% wider than what are in BSFS

I think part of that has to do with safety in an indoor facility.

Like I said, I really don't know and you're probably right assuming that all the concrete and steel has been adequately fire-proofed.

I'm admittedly LADACIQ, but Vanier 2.0 is already connected to the stadium on the NW corner. so just do the same thing in the NE corner.  problem solved.

why not build during the season if that is the hold up? i mean they rope that area off if it doesnt sell out anyways and now the NEZ is bigger?

 :dunno:

That ne corner is still the entrance/exit for emergency vehicles, equipment trucks, and harleys right?

yes it is, the plans show a tunnel being built for access.

right, so that's what prevents them from working on it during the season

gotta imagine they also don't want to lose all of the gameday parking caused by the construction equipment and materials.

lots of things. TV trucks park there, and as adjc said in not so many words they haven't even figured out how they are going to angle it
