Money is probably coming in too fast to get an accurate total to put out to the public.

A little bit. They said the total project will be $65 million, and they needed to raise $50 million to start. The remaining $15 million will come from department funds.

So how close are we?

No idea how close we are but I have to think Currie wouldn't have made the grand announcement unless he was certain this thing would break ground on schedule. If there is one thing he does well, he holds his cards close and doesn't officially release things until he wants you to know about it. If they start a big PR campaign to raise funds, then I would worry. My guess is that Bill is pissed about the Big 8 room getting plowed and made Currie promise to STFU about the whole thing until the season is over.
