got excited about Vanier going kaboom in roughly 4 months. then stumbled across these, not sure if they've been posted here, yet.

Is that a section of grass left in between the west side and the nez? Would be very K-Stateo if so and it was left there.

It is indeed  a slice of grass in the NW corner, and K-State does fully intend to leave said grass there when construction is complete. Very K-Stateo that will almost completely offset the aesthetic improvements by adding the new Vanier complex.

I hear that the remaining corner will be completed after next season.  I feel pretty confident that it will, in fact, be completed.  First, because we're rich as crap.  Second, because the corner video board necessarily can't be installed until that corner is developed.

You're referring to the northEAST corner? I agree that it will eventually be closed in a year or so after the Vanier Complex is rebuilt and that there will not be any grass over there.

I was referring to the northWEST corner. There is a slice of grass that will remain between Section 1 and the limestone terraces that will be built in the northWEST corner. As of now, the plan is to leave that grass there even after all construction for Vanier (this coming offseason) and the northEAST corner (the following offseason) is complete.

I suppose it is possible they could change their minds at some point??? We can only hope.

I think absolute dog crap is a little harsh.  The seats and corners aren't great, but the videoboards and tunnels are nice.

Yeah, I think the whole interior is actually pretty nice, I just hate those windows and that silver rectangle that boxes the windows, and that weird tin roof looking thing. I guess the silver box kinda matches the WSC but the other two things don't, and they could have done a better job at matching. The exterior is pretty damn good, my only complaint is i wish the main entrance was an arch like the WSC, makes it look more like a castle and match better, but really, what they got planned is ok.

You guys do know how frequently Currie changes his mind during a construction project right?  I wouldn't worry too much about a patch of grass at this point.

Currie is a classic under-promise and over-deliver kind of guy.  He won't commit to something until he's goddamned sure he can deliver.  And when he swoops in with a "oh btw ya we're going to do this too" then we love him even more.  Tried and true sales strategy.
