What if they just put in 1 row for every 2 on the South end?  (leg room!)

Why are you sitting?

Why are you sitting?

Because they called the first timeout and/or end of quarter.

Try a different approach, Luke.  E-mail him again and propose a friendly wager.  If K-State wins a national championship in the next five years ADJC has to agree to make the lazy river phase VII of the BSFS master plan.

Yep.  Now, here's the downside: if you lose the bet, and K-State doesn't win the NC, then you have to sit atop a dunk tank in one of the corner terraces and ADJC gets to dunk you every time K-State scores.  I think this is a win-win for both because BSFS either gets a dunk tank or a lazy river further expanding ADJC's grassroots initiative, while at the same time you get to see every home game, and since nobody in CFB has either of these things it will probably get us tons of national exposure and you will probably be famous for being the guy floating in the lazy river or getting dunked in the dunk tank.

human cannons on both the NE and NW terraces.  So many possibilities...

Oh you guys crown surf when you get a touchdown?  Yeah that's okay I guess...we launch 2 humans 250 feet and they high five in mid air.  nbd.

Hey kicker, what do you think made you miss that game winning field goal?  Well it might have been the nerves, but I'd have to say seeing a human being fly right past the goal post as the ball was snapped was a definite distraction.

Halftime show was kinda lame today...EXCEPT THE PART WHERE THAT GUY WAS LAUNCHED OUT OF A CANNON AND GRABBED ONTO A DANGLING ROPE LADDER HANGING FROM A BLACKHAWK HELICOPTER THAT HAPPENED TO BE FLYING OVER AT THAT VERY MOMENT!

My seats used to be too high up to ever catch a tee shirt, but now that those human cannonballs are strapped with tee shirt cannons, I've got more tee shirts than I know what to do with!!

I really enjoyed this post, thank you _hub

So what's the deal... we finally get concrete news about huge improvements and this thread is suddenly too boring to post in?

The VFC won't start until late Nov. Does anyone have any news about any kinds of upgrades that will happen this summer? I'm not looking for rumors about how "you heard we might...", but actual news about how "we will...". Video boards, new paint, anything?

U. of Oklahoma Plans Major Football Stadium Expansion
Details
by Michael Gaio CMay 2014
Reports say Oklahoma will spend between $350 million and $400 million on its stadium expansion.[ + ]

Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on google_plusone_shareShare on emailThe facilities arms race in college football just keeps getting turned up. The University of Oklahoma is the latest school planning to announce massive expansion plans to its current football stadium.

According to Oklahoma City's CBS affiliate, News 9, the Master Expansion Plan for Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium has been approved and is expected to be announced at a future OU Board of Regents meeting. Sources tell News 9 the cost of the expansion will be between $350 and $400 million.

That pricetag puts OU's renovation in the same ballpark as former Big 12 Conference foe, Texas A&M, which is spending $450 million to renovate and expand Kyle Field from a capacity of 82,589 to more than 100,000. Meanwhile, Baylor University, also from the Big 12, will open a new, 45,000-seat riverfront stadium this fall at a cost of $250 million.

According to News 9, the project at Oklahoma will begin following the Sooners' final home game in 2014 and will be completed in time for the 2015 season. The expansion will add seats to the south end zone enclosing the stadium forming a complete lower bowl. Current suites will be upgraded and new suites will be added to the stadium's south side. Additionally, a new press box will be added that will run the length of the stadium's west sideline. The stadium's capacity will be bumped from 82,112 to more than 90,000.

While the photo below is nothing more than the work of a talented message board poster, it provides an interesting visual. (That looks like a few more than 90,000 seats in our opinion.)

While probably not realistic, this Photoshop work by a message board poster provides an interesting visual.[ + ]

Additional upgrades include improving facilities in the south end zone where the players currently dress and have team meeting rooms. News 9 says a weight room and training facilities will also be improved. OU's stadium would remain the second-largest in the 10-member Big 12 conference, trailing only Texas' Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium which seats just more than 100,000.

Oklahoma currently has a 92-game sellout streak dating back to 1999 and 15,000 people remain on the waiting list for season tickets. The last major addition to the stadium came 10 years ago when the school added suites to the stadium's east side. The Sooners are coming off of an 11-2 season and are expected to be preseason favorites in the Big 12 this year.

80 whatever thousand is nothing to scoff at, but I've always been a little surprised that has been their capacity with the large amount of success they've had.

meh, they're basically as close to OKC as Lawrence is to KC, large population center nearby. Which, if you want a fun what-if situation imagine if Manhattan was to KC as Lawrence is to KC, think of the size our stadium could be then.
