Gems from response on Phog to bombshell announcement:
Meanwhile, there's still a track around Memorial. It hurts, brothers.
If only we were building a new state-of-the-world track facility. If only Zenger was working with design firms to develop plans that can be used for fundraising. If only . . .
Good grief, people. rolleyes Do you really think Zenger isn't working on this every day?
I know. But it still hurts, because it's 2014. That thing should've been gone 30 years ago. flushed
If he's working on it every day, he's obviously very bad at his job.
Yes, I seriously think he's not working on this every day. I question what he even looks like at this point, it's been so long since he's said boo about anything at all. (from the one and only Dr. J)
I don't know what the incentive is to have it finished quickly. I'd rather they do it slowly and well than poorly and fast. Doing it poorly is almost worse because it would necessitate another half-ass renovation in the future. Bandaid renovation jobs are terribly inefficient from an administrative point of view. (my favorite lol)
Aren't they basically building what we already have in the Anderson Family Complex/Anderson Strength Center / Wagnon Complex?
(And from beems, remember you read it here first) Until K-State relocates the stadium and removes the harley track, they've still got a ways to go. This recent project will basically put their football complex on par with the rest of the Big 12. As it stands right now, KU has two strength centers that are both nicer than Vanier.

I would not bet 60 mil on it. I use to think the Big 12 was solid but the more you read it could fall apart in 5-10 years. If there is another round of conference realignment. schools like KSU. ISU would be left out. At least KU has a decent chance of going to the Big 10 or wherever. KSU could have the greatest football stadium in the Mountain West.
