ok.  I would consider land agriculture, not energy.  but either way, dude's rich as eff.  Don't know how expensive Phase III will end up being, but 20 mil has got to be close to 35-40%

I didnt hate Calvin but that new building is going to be sweet.  Worst part was how hot it always was when you first walked in the building.

There are worse buildings but not many.

I was back on campus earlier this week and caught up with Dean Malekzadeh. I was the president of the Dean's Student Advisory Counsel my senior year when the planning started) The newest (and final) plans are considerably different than shown in the "Calvin Today" issue. It's even better than you could have imagined. Leaving all of the mature trees, expanding Lovers Lane, rooftop terrace, 4-5 stories (can't recall), etc. It's great, you guys. PS, fundraising to the $55MM goal is completely done and then some. Construction will start this summer.

This thread started almost exactly 3 years ago, with simply asking how we were going to do our new field turf for probably around $250k, and look at what we're talking about now. I mean, this thread is gonna go platinum.

Totally agree. It will still be cool to look back and smile. We all built this stuff, you guys. You're always told to leave things better than you found them and we have and continue to do so. FYI, this will be ready for freshmen this year to have classes in the new building during their 4th year - hopefully ready for Fall '16.

Jack's dad sold some of his businesses to ADM in 1970.  He got a large chunk of ADM stock in the deal and was put on the BoD.  Jack got on the BoD in 1978.  When Jack retired from the BoD in 2004 he owned $238MM in ADM stock.
