And we are hurting for rendos.

So, the project has pretty much been made public by taking it to the BoR, we've selected an architectural firm, and we have ITK'ers saying we've received a lead gift commitment that will pay for half the project.

We HAVE to be close to rendo's being released

I totally think more school operations should be move in a space that is both functionally and financially separate from academia.  Have you guys ever had class in Ahern or the Old Stadium?  An absolute treat.

ND is combining academic buildings and new pressboxes.  Huge difference.

Take WSC, new college of business building, new engineering expansion, Seaton expannsion and renovation, and new science quad and put them all together.  Blam! $400 million.

But its like they're getting a basketball training facility, a rec, a ballroom, a music department building, a press box, a bunch of sciencey class rooms, new scoreboard, and a bunch of other cool stuff. I like it. Its cooler than the crap they're doing at aTm

Ah crap guys, Texass has got us beat again.

"The two-story building and practice fields with an adjoining drill area will be attached to the existing Nutter Field House and coupled with the already planned $110 million renovation of Commonwealth Stadium.

They [will] include: administrative offices, team meeting areas, training areas, high performance and weight room space, a hydrotherapy room, new locker rooms and lounge facilities, an academic lounge and student study area.”
 :surprised:

"I'm hearing Texas is this close to building a new, two-story, indoor football practice facility. The money has already been raised. It would go up in the same place where the current practice bubble is located at Frank Denius Fields. There might be some issues with a state law that prohibits structures from blocking views of the Capitol building. I'm not kidding."

If the Longhorns can get through a state law in regard to the Capitol building in downtown Austin, all systems should be a go. In related news, the University of Kentucky has plans to reveal its new two-story training facility, which is rumored to also include practice fields. Jennifer Smith of KentuckySports.com had the scoop in her January 28 article.

Texas facility will be nicer than Oregon's.  :surprised:

I'm surprised there isn't a Texas law prohibiting the capitol building from obstructing views of UT's football facilities.
