The Cats used to have a club team, not sure if they still do or not. Men's club hockey can be pretty big time some places, ISU has their own arena, not a rink but an arena for club hockey. Penn State's club team just became D1 and the Big 10 hockey conference formed because of their move to scholarship hockey. I'm pretty sure the D1 schools at Nebraska-Omaha, Alabama Huntsville, and Alaska Anchorage all started out as clubs.

No, the new additions to the rec center include a very nice indoor multi-purpose hockey rink on the northwest side.  The indoor track runs all the way around it at an elevated level, and I have seen the inline hockey team practice and play games there.  It is also used for soccer, and there are six basketball goals on the sides that can be raised up or let down as needed.  And the hockey team has two final four banners hanging in the arena (2001 and 2012 I think).  You should check it out.  I love the new rec.  Glad they finally got done with the construction.

So, the project has pretty much been made public by taking it to the BoR, we've selected an architectural firm, and we have ITK'ers saying we've received a lead gift commitment that will pay for half the project.

We HAVE to be close to rendo's being released
