look at how many of them are touching each other.  The trees I mean.  Not the people they copy/pasted all over the place.

something else of note:  they have a large cascading fountain surrounding a female Bear Bryant statue that they filled with dirt and grass instead of water.

I don't think it's a fountain. I just think the 2 rings around the statue are some kind of weird aggie symbolysm. They are also probably there to keep people off the grass around mama bear.

FYI: If you're lost in a forest its your best bet to stay put to allow search teams to find you /eagle scout.  hopefully you're close to a white courtesy phone so stadium search and rescue teams can lead you back to your car/tailgate.

I think they are making a huge mistake by putting in too few trees, really. If you are going to plant that many trees, you might as well plant a forest. Their gameday experience would be one of a kind. Imagine getting lost in the woods, and then coming upon an ancient collie cemetery. Then, you make a left turn and stumble upon a Mama Bear Bryant grass fountain. Then, you turn right and find an open field with what looks like stonehenge, only instead of solid stones there are what appear to be concrete door frames. Finally, you just keep exploring and lo and behold, you find a massive stadium with a plaza. You see a regiment of soldiers armed only with swords, and you start to wonder if you are still in America or if you have stumbled upon some secret backwoods civilization.

Trees would look nice, would be a nightmare on game day. Not sad.

 

I really can't wrap my head around all the tree butt hurt, and I pretty much melted down about the end zone if death turf being slightly off color.

I mostly just find the stupidity of the "trees would be a nightmare" explanation humorous.

Since you clearly have access to all of the same info as the architects and site planners, and have similar background, training and expertise as well, I place extra value on your evaluation of the decision. Thanks for your input!

Nice trees aTm, but I can't help but laugh a little about their press releases and how it's still all about trying to be better than Texas for them.

I know they're a bigger school and with lots of alumni, but they're taking on huge debt and hitting the students up for nearly 20% of the cost of that project simply so they can say they have more seats than UT.

Then again, I don't like, and never have liked aTm and have never understood why so many Tucks like them.  Unless it's some sort of kinship with ultra conservative, cult like institutions who thrive on hyperbole and exaggerations that attempt to make their institution appear to be the only reason we exist as a nation, going so far as making up fake quotes from historic military leaders to make it sound like the U.S. couldn't have ever won a war if it weren't for aTm.

Do you guys like all of the purple powercats that are on all of the columns? I liked them at first, but I'm kind of thinking that maybe it would be better without them. We could just put K-State flags on top of each column instead, and I think that might look better.

I think my problem with the powercats is that there are 10 of them on the west side of the stadium alone. That kind of seems like the equivalent of having a basketball court with a logo that stretches from 3 pt line to 3 pt line. It's a pretty minor detail, though.

Palm trees would be the crap.

Reason #1: Palm trees have less low-hanging branches that impede walkways
Reason #2: Palm trees are awesome
