Drove by BSFS yesterday and observed a worker with a tape measure diligently measuring something on the west side.  They're working on Sundays now to finish up this project boyos.

KU has all sorts of money to build an Olympic village type thing for non-revenue sports and then demolish Memorial Stadium piecemeal and build a new stadium that will seat 1,000,000 in luxury boxes.

actually, no. the only thing that is a sure deal is an 1/8 mile indoor track that is part of a facility with 1 indoor soccer field, 8 bball courts/volleyball courts, a gymnastics area, and your typical fitness and weight lifting areas.

if ku wants a new track they are paying for it. the original scope of the project has been cut dramatically by the city and the investors. still a nice facility for the community and plenty of additional room left on the site. but, if ku is planning a track facility its not near as far along as the city facility.

I still expect a couple more iterations will be done on the outdoor before is finalized and we can get going on it. should start on the indoor facility soon. not saying it won't be nice, because anything is nicer than a combo football/track facility, but KU is only doing this because they are getting one heck of a deal. not because they actually have the funds
