Some people on the phog are stealing our moat/lazy river jokes.

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=2485&t=9046610

read through that thread earlier. I love phog logic and how they always just assume ku has millions of dollars ready to be spent on whatever
DNR the thread, but I bet money that the word "endowment" was used in at least 10% of the posts.

from what I gathered, the endowment is basically a big checking account and zenger has a MasterCard debit card that he can use for all facilities upgrades

They are so far away from doing anything with that stadium if the removal of the track is item #1 on the agenda.

We'll be halfway through phase 4 by the time they get around to moving the track.

And in order to remove the track, they have to have another one built to replace it.  None of their donors want to put money down for a new track.  They are backed up in a corner.

That's kind of wild that the MU east side expansion, shown in the renderings, will cost $35mil while the BSFS west side expansion will cost twice that.

I guess ours will just be a lot more elite.

That's the price of doing business in MHK, building something in the welfare state of Missourah is like building in China, really cheap labor pool, shoddy materials, slaves, the list goes on

still elite for us nonetheless

Yeah, it's quite the pickle. Every high school in the state of Kansas can afford to build a track, but apparently KU cannot. Cheyenne really inherited a mess.

Every HS in the state doesn't have a fb team hemorrhaging money.  most of the HS's prob break close to even.

Zulu would do well to look at the HS model in righting that ship.

That is ridiculous. The city should make them use the facilities at Lawrence High School and pay rent.

Socialism and the fact that no football/basketball donor is begging to have the track around a horrible disgrace of a football field named after them. Maybe goEMAW should pay for the track. That would be pretty great to have a sign that said the track was goEMAW's. I mean, it is probably the only thing that is worth anything at Gil Turner Family Stadium.

one interesting thing I read is that phil anschutz has basically donated like $300 million to University of Colorado Medical Center, a lot to KU basketball, and untold amounts to other worthy causes but hasn't given much to KU football

makes you really wonder if he has just given up on KU football or sees it as a "lost cause"

We just need him to see that having K-State as the only football school in Kansas is what's best for all parties and we will gratefully accept his donations.

actually, no. the only thing that is a sure deal is an 1/8 mile indoor track that is part of a facility with 1 indoor soccer field, 8 bball courts/volleyball courts, a gymnastics area, and your typical fitness and weight lifting areas.

if ku wants a new track they are paying for it. the original scope of the project has been cut dramatically by the city and the investors. still a nice facility for the community and plenty of additional room left on the site. but, if ku is planning a track facility its not near as far along as the city facility.

Holy crap, one crane was swaying quite a bit. Bobcat guy seemingly unfazed, going about his business.

Everyone left. Even bobcat guy. Morale appears to be extremely low. It's like they don't even care about making our stadium nice.

Meanwhile in Fort Worth . . .

Also, in looking at their new dressing room that's coming along, together with all their other new stuff.  It appears Pattterson will only be recruiting soft, shallow kids, much like Oklahoma State, you know, kids that just want bling and shiny stuff.

People are back, sans bobcat guy. Objects are being hoisted into the air by cranes, albeit with a painful amount of caution. Right side crane operator appears disoriented

Right hand crane operator gives up, folds crane down. Objects have ceased being hoisted.

Please clear something up, is the crane operator right-handed (and the other one is left handed), or is it the crane operator on the right side of your screen?
