Pretty sure the problem with the turf at BSFS is due to overuse.

Yeah don't they practice pretty exclusively on it?  Early 2000s they were still using the grass to the south and west of the stadium

my guess is that since the bowl is now complete, we'll get new turf after this upcoming season which will replace all the mismatched/crappy turf and extend from wall to wall.  Also assuming that they are still planning on adding turf for 2 practice fields over by the new soccer field, and that they will start using them.
