Definitely a huge bonus to the stadium, it'll make the stadium "flow" together so much better, not just the concourse, but obviously the sections. Aesthetically between this IIIB phase and hopefully doing Phase IV next year  (limestone wall, video boards, ribbon boards, sound, maybe getting a full on new field) when the 'Cats take the field for 2017 we'll have one pretty looking stadium on the inside and half of the outside.

Heck, if they did all of that a took a break for a year or two I'd be fine with it, the stadium would look and be massively improved, but if they jumped in to do ESC in 2018 or something I wouldn't be upset 

Honestly hope they do something to the south ez before the east side. From the interior of the stadium the ES looks fine, but the sez looks like a hs stadium with the concession tents and bleachers. (do the bleachers still exist?)

The number I got was from when that story originally run and I thought I remembered (apparently wrong, but oh well) that it was "roughly half" of the cost. It's isn't obviously from the story and the Ice family is still part of it, but he did get the locker room named after him, and that it was a "generous gift."  I bet it was still at least $1 mill if not a couple.

I'm not sure what you mean here, the capacity was listed well over 50,000 for the entire season. I'm guessing the published capacity didn't change because the construction wasn't done and you have to think that the actual capacity will decrease from what seemed to be closer to 54,000 this past season.

I don't understand why some people are so weird about those bleachers, they are always full. I'm glad the AD didn't get rid of them like what was rumored.

Agreed, I don't think they should just get rid of them. I do think something nicer could be constructed, and could go the width of the field.

No, it's because Pat has left four $40 hardhats in the foundation in the NE corner of the stadium.

So it' been a few weeks since I had a chat with someone from K-State athletics re: BSFS that I thought would be fun to share.

-They are looking into redoing the sound system soon, probably next offseason. and even though the sound will still only come from the SEZ it'll be done in such a way to make the sound go across the stadium more evenly. Waiting to basically get done with the NE corner of Vanier since that will fill in the final shape of the stadium before doing so for acoustic purposes.
-Limestone wall is a go, sadly no word on exactly when, though I told him it would look sweet and really dress up the stadium (I gushed a good 2 minutes about it) and he agreed it would be good to do (as if it wouldn't be already)
-SEZ sound like it might be actually the next candidate up. Old videoboard would be replaced by a new larger board, and seating would mostly be comprised of just club level seating due to high demand (he said it was highest in demand seating. Also said there was demand for normal seating but it is a secondary goal)

Though only two things I really wished I asked in retrospect were about the field being all different turfs and looking pretty ragged and if that was going to be fixed, and also what ideas about the plan for the ESC. I kinda asked about the ESC but I framed the question too broad, and it fell into talking about the SEZ, not that that's a bad thing but still, would have been nice to press a bit on it. Go Cats.
