BSFS Expansion Thread

Keep in mind that my dream is to have BSFS expanded to a 70,000 hulking monstrosity that is like one of the Top 10 loudest stadiums in the country (and the acoustics of the place could definitely make that work). So I might be off-base in saying that 55,000 would be appropriate if we were winning like 9-11 games a year again.

Wasn't it ranked really high (in loudness) back in DoD?  Wanna say top 20?  And that was back when it sat like 42k?

If K-State and Manhattan continue to grow like they are then surely 55k or 60k isn't out of the question. Obviously we'd have to maintain success to make it worth while.

I think that 60,000 is reasonable as soon as we have some success post-Snyder.

Kinda hard not to be thinking like that after a win over the U.  Reminds me of the good ol' days of the DoD.

If we can get 51,000+ in the stands against rough ridin' eastern kentucky, we can get 55,000 against conference opponents.  Granted, we would sell out maybe half of our games every year, but still, the extra revenue you can make from 5k seats would be pretty substantial.

With the growth of Manhattan, we could add a few thousand seats in the next 10 years or so and be able to fill them (assuming we're fielding a decent product).

I don't care if MHK grows to 150K.  Keep that crap a hot ticket, and upgrade seats to premium...turn the top 10 rows of the upper deck to "loge" seating with booze, tv's and waitresses or something.

didn't somebody project manhattan's population to grow to around 100K in the future? anyone have a link to that?

agree about upgrading/etc. disagree about "hot ticket". i don't care if we are selling tix for ten bucks like we did the first two games, i just want to get as many people in the stadium possible while providing a better upgraded "premium" experience for those that can afford it and want it. no reason you can't do both.

just have enough different price points/options and work the ever loving hell out of them. somebody doesn't care where they sit and just wants a single game tik to get into the game? no prob. here is your cheap ass single game ticket to the game with the worst view in the house. somebody different wants to be able to drink beer during the game? no prob-here you go. somebody wants the best seat possible seat and doesn't care about beer-here is your seat. right here. you def want as many people there as possible though. they have done a great job at that over the past few years with this. whoever is in charge or plans/ticket prices/etc is light years ahead of whoever was doing it ten years ago. kudos to them.

the ticket office comes up with the plans/prices but Currie gets final approval and pushes to get people in the seats no matter what they sell the ticket for, also no matter how "sold out" a game is currie wants fans to be able to walk up to the ticket office before the game and purchase a ticket

The first time Stoops et all returned, you know, the game with the "Loyalty" and "Traitor" banners hanging from the east side, was mother rough ridin' loud...as was the NU '98 and NU in the snow.
