I'm pretty sure they are just waiting for kstate to announce the very last phase and then they will announce one that's better.
At this point, to keep pace, they'll literally have to tear down and build an entirely new stadium. Ala Baylor.
What should be worrisome for KU (but apparently isn't?) is that once Vanier 2.0 is built, they will be miles behind not just in the stadium and game day facility, but now also miles behind in their football complex and player facility.
So in order to just
catch up, they'd have to completely redo Memorial
and add new suites/club level/pressbox
and replace Generic Football Person Complex. And when K-State announces East and South stadium projects, KU will be staring at hundreds of millions of dollars just to match what K-State is doing, let alone try to exceed it.
Considering KU needs state funds to support basketball facility projects, difficult to see where the money comes from to build that many facility improvements for their distant #2 sport.
