We're blessed here at K-State to have former superstar players that really want to be back in Manhattan.  Are there some that don't really count?  Yes.  Do we appreciate them any less?  No.

Beasley, whose best gags always seem to involve Sharpies, grew envious after hearing about former teammate Jacob Pullen's famous facial hair. So before he left, Beasley scribbled a black beard everywhere his image appeared in Kansas State's basketball offices.

National Basketball Association trade talk is swirling with much of the chatter involving former Kansas State All-American Michael Beasley.

To that, the former Wildcat laughs as he says, "If it happens, it happens. Honestly, I'm hoping the league will put a franchise in Manhattan, Kansas. I could get excited about that."

Beasley, who returned to Manhattan this week to see friends, just completed his second NBA season with the Miami Heat where he averaged 14.8 points on 45 percent shooting from the field (27 percent from 3-point range) and 80 percent from the line, plus pulled down 6.4 rebounds per game.

"I love Manhattan and loved being at K-State, but it was a decision I had to make for a lot of people," said Beasley of leaving the Wildcat program after just one year. "I love my life now, but I do miss Manhattan."

Former Wildcats Bill Walker and Blake Young took in the contest.

Walker, who is off for the NBA All-Star break, has played in eight games for the Boston Celtics and averages 3.5 points.

When I was a freshman in college, I went to my first K-State football game (as a student) with my brother, his roommate, and Jonathan Beasley.

I would be willing to be that Jordy would drive down the street in his car with his windows down to meet fans if they an encounter occurred.  I highly doubt the windows would be tinted and his personalized license plate is probably ksu27, not something self centered like truth34.
