I think the pic with Cosh driving the car with all the topless chicks helped.

I've been sticking it on the windshield of every solid DC recruit for a month now. I'm taking credit for this one...

"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

If Cosh never plays a down, he still was worth the scholarship to get a decent defensive tackle to commit.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

We're med. on his list of 27 schollies, no schools are high.  3 visits scheduled.  I'd say 15-20% chance we get an official.

Also,

As of July 4th, according to Rivals.com, amongst our 10 commitments, there are 5 BCS offers, and no single recruit has more than one BCS offer....so this means that exactly half of our recruits were desired by exactly one other BCS school.

Does this actually constitute improvement for OB?  :dunno:  Probably so.

As things stand now, if Kansas State is to land Clear Springs, Texas defensive end Brandon Mickens, it won't have to hold off many traditional powerhouses. The Clear Springs High School senior currently sits on a trio of offers, one of which is from the Wildcats, but while he has a single Big 12 offer in his hip pocket, the other two that join it don't exactly stack up in prestige. Both Louisiana-Lafayette and Texas State, two schools closer to Mickens' family, home have also extended offers, and the 6-foot-4 lineman says his recruitment isn't exactly the one-horse race it appears to be.

"I don't know which one I like yet," Mickens said. "I haven't really thought about choosing yet at all."

It was a talking point on which the lineman never wavered. According to him, his choice won't be a matter of exposure or hinge on the desire to play in sold out stadiums. Instead, he'll commit where he feels most comfortable. Sure his outlook on things is a bit non-traditional, but staying close to home will play some role in his recruitment as it moves forward "Conferences really don't matter to me," Mickens said. "I just want to play somewhere I like. I'm going to be playing football either way.

Brandon Mickens is currently holding three scholarship offers.

"Kansas State talks to me about the program and their tradition. I like that, but Lafayette is a fun school too and it's closer to my home. I guess I like both right now."

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008
