“We’ve known each other since pre-K,” Lee said of Warnack. “He’s talked to me, and before that, we’ve talked about playing together since we were little kids. That could be a big impact on where I decide to play.”
Kansas State fans are hoping to see the two friends together at the next level. While Warnack was named the Gatorade Missouri Player of the Year and was the recipient of the Thomas A. Simone Award, given to the top player in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, Lee earned the Buck Buchanan Award, which is given to the top large-school lineman or linebacker in the Kansas City area.
Lee said the chance of that happening, at this time, is “about an 8 out of 10.”
Lee, who is being recruited to Kansas State by quarterbacks coach Del Miller, also has interest from Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas and Illinois. Lee runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, bench presses 275 pounds and squats 375.
