It appears that K-State has elected to release all of their preferred walk-ons as members of this class. It has always been my understanding that these players cannot be released under NCAA rules because they remain recruitable student-athletes who can still sign a letter of intent with another institution. In calling around to some prospects, it sounds as if K-State is now releasing names of walk-ons who have been admitted to Kansas State. They have obviously been told this is permitted but that runs contrary to what I have been told for years.

I called to ask which of the players are the walk-ons, and I was told that information is not going to be released, at least at this time. So, there you have it.
