2004 and 2005 was mostly because we had a complete set of idiots (sorry dyls, rip) at the qb position. that's why people like zacker always made the "snyder hasn't recruited a good qb since 98" talking point. they were spot on fwiw.

but now we have a totals studs at the qb position.

We were equally horrible on defense, speed and skill fell off considerably. I mean Matt Butler as a starting Big XII linebacker? JFC.

I don't think its unreasonable to be quite concerned about the prospects of the defense. Defensive recruiting this year has been essentially a failure. Anyone we though worth an immediate scholarship we lost out on. Sour grapes (HUR!) won't change that fact.
