Iowa Western beat Butler 27-7 in the NC game.  Waters was 32-40 for 306.  He doesn't sound like a Snyder type of QB, he only had 12 rushing yds on 19 carries.  (Butler did have a ton of sacks though.)  Also, Cosh blew out his knee trying to stop a pick 6 and watched the 2nd half from a wheelchair.

Marshall is dynamic, but Waters is legit.  He has real offers.  Bill O'Brien knows QBs.

We're recruiting Sams' backup.  Waters would be a good get for that role.

I'm not saying the kid isn't good, just that he seems like more of a pro style QB.  Would be weird to insert him into the offense if we ever needed to.

That's just beautiful, felix.  My God.

Is there a possible scenario that the Cosh family album thread didn't cover?

DJamer Wally reporting that Jamone Boyd may have, maybe, possibly, commited.  HANG TIGHT!!!

Quote
Jamone did not commit to Kansas State on his visit as was rumored. He's at breakfast in Manhattan now. Hopefully, he calls me back later. Just wanted to post that to clear things up.

There is literally no one more horrible at their job than DJamer Wally.  The absolute worst in the biz.

Did j-von's post really happen? I just assumed it was a joke because that's the kind of thing that usually happens. Either way, as soon as I saw Wallace's tweet, I took that as a sign that we have almost no shot at getting Boyd.

I always love how we haul almost everybody in for the last home game of the year . . . then they rant and rave about how awesome it was, "I'd rate it a 10".

But did we close anybody, did we get anybody to commit?

Nope.

It's akin to Boeing wheeling and dealing and setting the table for months getting major clients to the Paris Air Show, then wining and dining the crap out of them, getting them to the conference table in the big tent with the Flat Screens and Glass Partitions . . . and getting a "we'll think about it . . . but the white Alba Truffles and the Almas Cavier was fantastic last night, oh, can you tell us how to get to the Northrup Tent?"

Dax, did you really think we were going to land anyone?  Have we really ever done that?

When they played that farming video, I thought that those big-time recruits were probably thinking "where the hell am I?"  Then I realized we weren't getting them anyway, so it didn't matter.

Usually bad at recruiting.  Saturday night was very unusual, however.  Never in our history have we had recruits attend a primetime, nationally televised championship game at home against UT to clinch a title and BCS bowl.  Never had a trophy presentation on our own field and in which a heisman frontrunner was wearing a purple jersey.  And all of this took place with a the beginning of a $100mil pressbox looming on the west side of the stadium.

Historically, we suck at closing the deal.  Saturday was unlike any history we've ever seen.  Hoped maybe the recruiting results would be different.

How in the hell do we lose so many recruits, especially after Saturday?

Please tell me that we didn't get one single commitment out of Saturday.

I mean, seriously.  Please tell me this is because everyone hates deej and doesn't want to answer the phone.

I'm sure we used that "go home and talk to your family and make the right decision for you" line as they walked out the door.

Also, I hope Bill doesn't do again what it is rumored he did in 2003 by telling the coaches to focus on winning the Fiesta Bowl only and don't worry about recruiting until after the game.

please don't tell me the actually choreographed something to it for 2 reasons:

1. It would be stupid
2. We were laughing in section 2 that they had to dance to it.  Their dance looked nothing like it was supposed to be choreographed to it.  What our eyes were seeing didn't match what our ears were hearing.  If that was specially choreographed to that song, they did a terrible, horrible job at it.  Like DJamer Scoops level job.

A truly great moment.

I liked when it was over how all the farmers and rural folk in the crowd were all hooting and hollering with delight.  And everyone else was really quiet and embarrassed.

There was a point in time when ol Wabash used to get really worked up about how insanely terrible we are at recruiting.  I used to ask myself why?  Why are we so bad at this?

And then I reached a complete not caring point.  I highly recommend it because it feels so much better.  Just laugh at the complete ineptitude and horribleness and enjoy the ride.

Gundy to Tennessee would do more for 'cats recruiting than we will ever do for ourselves.
