Houston phone number?  :dunno:

mike jones

I'm guessing that didn't help BRULL

I saw Mike Jones here at the Cotillion, after the concert he went to the door to talk to the people leaving the concert.  The true BITB

met cham in westport one night, he was just visiting people in town.  was slightly before sound of revenge came out and no one else in the bar recognized him.  it was a really cool and odd experience.

mike jones is definitely a master self-promoter though.

Not K-State oriented, but a great recruiting quote about Reuben Foster, who switched from 'Bama to Auburn and potentially to Georgia

Quote
Foster has a large Auburn tattoo on his forearm.

The Under Armour All-American said he discussed this concern with the University of Georgia recently.

What we're hearing...

Oregon - If Chip Kelly leaves for the NFL the two leading candidates to replace him will likely be OC Mark Helfrich and Boise State coach Chris Petersen. Don't look for Kelly to bring more than a couple of Oregon coaches with him.

Tennessee - We continue to hear that Jon Gruden and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy will be serious candidates. We're also hearing some chatter about Louisville's Charlie Strong.

Auburn - The three names making the rounds are Alabama DC Kirby Smart, FSU coach Jimbo Fisher and Arkansas State coach Gus Malzahn. There will be others.

NC State - We're told that Vanderbilt coach James Franklin will be a candidate.

Arkansas - We're told the Razorbacks are zeroing in on a hire. TCU coach Gary Patterson is the flavor of the week, but we're told Mike Gundy remains in the mix, along with two or three other candidates.

Kentucky - Multiple sources tell us that AD Mitch Barnhart would like to make a splash hire with someone like Mike Gundy. It's more likely the Wildcats will end up with someone like David Cutcliffe or San Jose State's Mike MacIntyre. Tommy Tuberville seemed to be in the mix prior to his "slap" of a GA Saturday.

Kentucky?  Please.  Arkansas?  Eh.  Tennessee? Hmm.

I doubt anyone will tear him away form OSU.  But, man, I'd love for that to happen.

Word was that Gundy isn't on the same page as and doesn't get along great with his AD.

Gundy is the best coach OSU has ever had. He's better than Stoops. There is nothing mediocre about his results.

Nope.  The AD is the ex-golf coach.  How did the golf coach become the AD, you ask?  He's very, very good friends with T. Boone Pickens and agreed to be his puppet.

So.  The best coach they ever had is a former QB at the school.  Gundy is only leaving for the NFL.  They will pay him to stay but he's where he wants to be so he won't need crazy jack.

I think Gundy leaves for the NFL if Chip Kelly goes and has success and Daniel Snyder (or someone like that) says, "Hey, that Chip Kelly guy really has things going on in Cleveland.  I want to do that whole college fast break thing.  Again.  Because it will work this time."

Gundy's agent is Jimmy Sexton, an agent that has never been shy about using the media in negotiations.

Also, IIRC T Boone was initially skeptical of Gundy as HC and I think Gundy is looking for as much leverage as he can get.  Man, how glorious would it be if they let him go and and the golf coach and T Boone had to find the next guy

nope. the correct play is to force gundy out, causing him to take whatever job is open at the time and then hire some guy that just got fired for being a bad football coach at a comparable school. idk. edsell? dooley? tedford?

Yeah, and they also choked away a chance at a MNC.  You really think a dude like T Boone donates hundreds of millions for conference championships?
