Dana Dimel is leading the most efficient offense in the country right now. Luckily no one will believe it and offer him a head coaching job, which he deserves at this point.

well, KU offered before they hired Weiss

Let me rephrase, no one who's worth leaving his position now for will offer him.

dimel has made some slightly questionable head coaching decision jumps before though. prob jumped too soon/was too agressive in trying to move up the ladder.

Really?  I did not know that.  Interesting.

Dimel did a great job as a head coach. Improved Wyoming each year. Then got effed by a new AD a Houston. Three years for building a program is not long enough. He landed back to back number one CUSA recruiting class at Houston just to get fired and have Art Briles inherit the roster he built. He should be our next coach.

I agree. But he won't be. No way Currie wastes his one shot on an in house. Sucks.

I went ahead and sent Currie an email suggesting he make Dimel the next head coach at The Kansas State University anyway. I told him that he can ask every coach, athletic director, and university president in America, and not one of them will have anything bad to say about Dana.

The other thing Dimel has going against him is he won't have Snyder working the back channels to promote him. Bill will be pushing Sean on his donor pals.

we're either stuck with sean or we level the whole thing when bill dies.  that's the two choices, it seems.

Dimel was at Wyoming for three years and we know he did a great job, but three years wasn't enough time at Houston?

If Bill retires when we are still winning 10+ games every year, I will want Dimel and be pissed off about getting anybody else. If the team slides back into mediocrity when Bill retires, I will not want Dimel.

Observed oscar hire,  :curse: can imagine Curries replacement hire  :barf: thats why we need some replacements from the current staff that can actually recruit, so when Bill leaves there is something in the cupboard for the loser who replaces him.

This current team is loaded with talent. I don't think the recruiting has been as bad as the recruiting services indicate. There is a night and day talent difference between this team and the team Bill inherited.

Most players ever drafted in the NFL - 6.  http://curtiskitchen.com/k-state-in-the-nfl-draft-since-94/

Doubt we'll have 6 guys drafted.  definately 6+ on rosters, though.  Klein, Harper, Brown, Wilson, Malone, Tannahil, McDonald, Wilson, Doerr(?).

Puetz, Davis, Tuggle, Meshak will all spend time in an NFL camp.  Our recruiting could certainly be better but the results on the field would suggest its been far better that what the scouting sites have projected.  I dont care how much coaching up occurs, you still have to have talents to win 10 games or be ranked top 5.

I like what we've seen with Travis Britz at this point in the season, and I'm excited about the potential of him and Hood together...and i know that we've offered a lot of juco guys like Combs, Delva, and Cajuste...but I'd like to see where we are in terms of interest with these HS Defensive Tackles.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/football/recruiting/player-Bobby-Leath-138885

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/football/recruiting/player-Ben-Hughes-124437

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/football/recruiting/player-Ajhane-Brager-142145

The Brager kid has already visited campus..i believe for the UNT game. Leath has interest in both us and the clones...and Hughes looks like a manchild on tape. There haven't been a lot of updates on any of them since the spring...

Is Baylor's recruiting so good that they won't offer Hughes?

The only DT they have commited is a 2*.  :dunno:
You would think they'd be doing everything they could to beef up that awful defense

Nope that might effect the ability to get the ball back to score

I don't follow this logic? Letting a team score takes less time than a 3 and out?

Yea Baylor is far closer to letting a team score in less then 3 downs to having a 3 and out defense.  :dunno:

What if Bill leaves behind a tape scripting every play for every game for the next 20 years for Sean? I mean I might take that and when Sean has the headset on he's listening to Bills death tape giving him word for word on what to do on every play for every game the next 20 years. Will take. It will be Bills last laugh. Finding the oasis.

DJDT reports he only saw/recognized 4 recruits at the ku game.  In the same thread, "catatomic" confirms there were 50.

I saw some video.  He's actually pretty good.

He has nice stats, too.

I think he'd fit our offense pretty well.
