Ertz finished with 327 yards of total offense in three quarters. He completed nine passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns  and rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.

“He really got the running game going for them,” Dodds said. “He broke containment on us a lot tonight. That is something we worked on all week in practice. We knew we couldn’t allow that to happen for us to be successful, but it did happen. He’s a special athlete. That’s a real good asset to their program.”

The Cougars’ offensive line and two-headed monster of Trey Toomer and Dre’Vian Young at running back wore down the smaller Tigers in a 55-35 victory at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium.
Toomer ran for 139 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries while Young added 123 yards, three scores and a 106-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

OSU site update after their Walker offer.  So now KU and OSU's rivals sites have spoken to the kid.

Quote
With it gradually becoming apparent that the Oklahoma State staff would like to sign a third safety prospect in their 2013 class, the latest target to pick up an offer from the Cowboys is Mansfield (TX) Timberview product Trevor Walker.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder adds the OSU offer to an already impressive list of options and his father Chris spoke with O-State Illustrated this week about how the sudden interest materialized.

"Last Friday before his game he got a Facebook message from Coach Meacham telling him to give him a call and then on Saturday morning was when he actually extended an offer," said Walker.

"It actually caught us off guard - we had no idea," added Walker. "We hadn't been communicating with them at all and he just called out of nowhere and said 'Hey I just wanted to let Trevor know that he has an offer with Oklahoma State."

Noting the lack of recent contact, Walker indicated that it took him a second to piece together how exactly this latest connection was made.

"The funny thing about it once I started thinking about it, we actually had been communicating with Coach Malone before but I didn't realize he used to be at Tulsa. So when I thought about it I thought oh this is the guy from Tulsa so maybe he just kind of remembered Trevor and continued recruiting him at Oklahoma State," he said.

Walker may very well be OSU's top choice for their final safety spot in the 2013 class.
The ironic part about Walker's relationship with Oklahoma State is that the elder Walker indicated that he and his son have been to Stillwater on multiple previous occasions and that there is some definite interest based on those trips.

"Well I'll tell you we went to Oklahoma State I think in his junior year or it might have been earlier than that. We went out to a camp and Coach DeForest was the coach then and [Trevor] was totally excited about Oklahoma State. We both fell in love with the campus and we fell in love with all the facilities over there. We actually had been out there twice already before his recruitment ever started," he said.

So with some degree of familiarity with the Cowboy program already, Walker established that a possible official visit to Stillwater could materialize should things continue to develop positively between the two parties.

"We have an official set up with Boise State on the 15th and after that it's pretty much up in the air. Honestly, a school like Oklahoma State will definitely go all the way up on the radar but if Oklahoma State doesn't recruit him really heavily, if they don't show that they really want him, we'll be just as fine going to K-State on an official. So at this point it's really up to the coaches on how that's going to be determined. We've got some schools that are begging for an official and some schools that aren't really doing a whole lot," he said.

"With a school like Oklahoma State honestly right now that's the biggest thing is just trying to feel them out and determine if I'm a plan B guy or if I'm a guy they really want," Walker added.

Semi-serious question: do you think we would have more recruiting success if our rivals site was better about talking to recruits a lot?  If you were a recruit who felt pretty even between KU, OSU, and KSU, but OSU's rivals site was constantly calling you and trying to get updates and see how you were feeling about coming to Stillwater, while DJamer Wally left you one message when he knew you would be in class, wouldn't you feel more wanted at OSU?
:adios:

yes. also if we had non-dumbfucks representing our media on the phone with them when they do make contact.

Do you think our coaches warn recruits about the media people that will try to contact them?
Michael Smith to potential recruit, "Hey man, we would love to have you at K-State. You will get the opportunity to play in front of 50,000 crazy fans. You'll be adored by over 20,000 students on campus. The city of Manhattan will love you. LHC Bill Snyder has a history of winning games and placing players in the league. Oh, and I have to tell you that you shouldn't judge the excitement level and our interest in you based upon a couple of idiots from the recruiting media that will leave you one or two messages when you are obviously unavailable and if you do happen to talk to them, they will sound stupid. Just know that they are not representative of how bad we would love for you to come to K-State. GO CATS!"

NK hit the nail on the head here.

Our best bet is taking athletic kids (i.e. track kids Manhatter drools over) and turning them into football players.  We just can't compete with those kinds of facilities.

We just need a grassroots campaign at the high schools where they make the football players watch the part of Rocky IV where Rocky is all working out in the barn where Drago is working out with all the cool stuff and using roids and crap and then cut to the end where Rocky wins.

Should I have said, "Unless a significant portion of our fan base, who have never supported us to this level, begins to do so?"

I'm not saying that we can't have nice things and shouldn't try, but this is the current reality unless things change.

Yes, but how many are in a market as small as ours? No matter how nice our facilities are we still have a sheep farm across the street from the football stadium.

Don't mind me while I tuck my pants up to my nips but Butler Co. has been able to recruit like nobody's business while playing with (basically) 4A facilities for years.  I know juco isnt the same as D1 but, with the right people, you can still bring in talent with lessor facilities.  Still, can't be too unhappy with where we're sitting right now.  We're no Oregon or Bama but we have a legitimate chance to beat Okie State, facilities be damned.

Butler Co has Kansas State/James Madison reject Billy Cosh starting at QB and some Dremius Smith KU failure starting at tailback. We can all get the hot townie chick that no one else will touch because she's got std's running down her leg.

A former Butler QB is starting for LSU. And Cosh beat #5 Blinn last week and Butler is beating #15 Fort Scott 54-14 right now.
