Hatter's newfound interest in goEMAW has made this place a real joy to read

more of a free agent poster these days...sorta disgruntled by the lack of recruiting coverage elsewhere.  Too old for yesterday's tricks of kabooming tigerboard or jordy'ing up hornfans.com

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Welp, I'm back on the redshirt Sams bandwagon (unless he's super-awesome).

redshirt sams you retards?  are you seriously taking the, "build for the future" approach with this?  we have no rough ridin' future.  we have no post-LHC Bill Snyder plan.  currie is going to bail, powertards are going to rally around his dumbass son to take over, players are going to leave, we are going to continue recruiting like crap for the rest of bill's tenure...there is no rough ridin' future.  play sams with the browns and the leftover studs from the prince regime and take what we can get.

Yes. Also, it's Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to redshirt the best player on your team just because he's a freshman. I honestly DGAF what we are going to look like 5 years from now, and if the new coaching staff (or God forbid this one) can't recruit another quarterback by then, they get what they deserve.

you know what's also Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)?? thinking Sams will be the best player on the team. No matter how sexy he is.

Yeah, best player definitely was stretching it. The point still stands, though. If Sams is even a hair better than Klein and Tuggle, play him. We get to play him for 4 years, either way.

Welcome back, friend.

If he's not going to play QB this year, redshirt him.

If he's good enough to start, let him play.

But if they're going to start Klein and make Sams play WR, then redshirt him.  I don't want him wasting his time.

Lucas was offered by Prince but didn't commit...

Ah ha!

me thinks Andre McDonald is a Prince commit PW is proud of...fills a uni the way it should be filled.

I like McDonald's personality. His body is good too, though.

you know me...hard to contain myself when I see a solid lower body.  I think this photo of McDonald speaks for itself

just so you can get a preview of what to expect from whitehair...just imagine how these oaks for legs will fill out those silver pants.  He could enhance his uni appearance by going the way of the Dolphins Jake Long and get big tats running down his arm.

I will give Snyder credit for at least reviewing his recruiting strategy in the sense that he's now going after:

A) Kids that will qualify
B) Going after athletic kids that want to play QB but aren't offered by more prestigious programs as opposed to recruiting one highly-sought after dual-threat QB really hard and then offering some white kid from out of nowhere when that doesn't work out
C) Athletes that have physical attributes becoming of a football player.  If you're going to coach 'em up, at least do it with kids that have the physical build/abilities to actually be D1 players.

I'm not sure I'll ever be in love with football recruiting at KSU because it will always be very meh, but at least there's a real strategy here now, and we haven't had one of those since the late 90's when they found a nice balance between prep and JUCO players of the time.

*In no way am I saying we're going to have another DoD.  I'm just saying we have a strategy now.

I agree with Pan in that it does appear we are actually getting back to recruiting guys that appear to have BCS conference size and "buildability".

A small step forward is also being made to recruit some depth at the QB position of the type of athlete OB wants, as oppossed to the method that Pan pointed out of swinging for the fences and then having nothing to fall back on.

So, there's a couple of small bright spots out there.

But at the end of the day, recruiting is about closing.

yeah, that's outsidery info.  it's the main driving point (outside of him being amazing) for my Start Sams campaign.

In all probability, that's because you are part of the dumbass fan base that thought NFL millionaire, star on the rise Freeman was a tight end playing out of position.

I'm wondering if he isn't faster than he looked. At times he was taking almost 2.5 yards per stride and at 5' 11", you would think he's fairly fast to do that.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

How about the much larger dumbass fan base that thought Chris Harper was the next Ell Roberson?  I think PW was one of those.
