How was your mlb able to discern these less than an inch hand placement variations?

Hips give away where the down hand is. Hips and spine have to go where body is pointed.

Was this modified 5-3 like 3-3 stack with inverted safeties?

Actually, looked like 5-2-1. Made the Mike LB look more like a nickleback which made QB read the defense wrong. Would sometimes move him up into blitz position which would cause QB to misread, Would also bring CB or OLB into blitz position but mostly they didn't blitz which would stop wheel/flair route.

Ultimate  chess match.

college D2

Although I did spend a year coaching 8 man when I moved back to Ks. 1st Secretary of 8 man football Association. Helped create the 8 man state playoffs.

JMO but I think you're taking more credit than you deserve if you were just a secretary.

Perhaps you're correct since all I did was write the letters and keep the notes of meetings when the original 8 of us met.

My bad. :dunno:

So, the 8-man-football committee had 8 men on it? Seems a bit too on-the-nose.

So, back to recruiting.  What news is out there?  I saw via Twitter:

- We struck out another OT from the KC area (went to Minnesota).  I think Fleck is overrated, but man we are having trouble with OTs
- We offered a OL from Lakin, Ks... anyone see him play?
- The QB from Iowa, Dekkers has a bunch of P5 offers now.  I imagine we are out with him and Stroud, maybe we are still in with Howard?

I haven’t been following it AT ALL, however, I think it’s going very well. Hopefully that answers your question.

Left tackles are made, not born. Yeah, they have to have the physical skills but Left tackles has to be ramped up because that is the Most important OL position. Protecting the QBs blind side.

Every group has to start some place.  State of Kansas was just ignoring us. It takes balls to punch State of Kansas Activities Ass. in the nose, repeatedly. Took a few years but Kansas Activities Ass. finally recognized us. It didn't hurt that by that time I was HC in 3-4A  position and had all those in my Conference, and several others pushing.

Kind of like how Chris Klieman got on the National Board and helped FCS. Sometimes it's not what you know, but who you know.

Seiler must have been told "stop Kstates momentum and steal some of their cruits or you can start printing new resumes"

My guess is he already had a relationship with him before he left. If Seiler stayed we probably would have gotten him.

Still #3 in the Big 12 in recruiting.  Plus, we have already received 3 DE verbals in 2020 class.  Van Malone is recruiting Korie Black...that gives me some hope.

I agree on Van Malone, he has been killing it.  If we can get 15-20 kids to sign early I fill pretty confident that Kli can evaluate the remaining talent to fill in the edges... normally KSU was looking to find 20 guys from Dec to Feb.

As for the DEs, I think only Matlack will be a DE.

I think Will Swanson’s commitment (HS TE from Nebraska) is imminent, maybe to a lesser extent Ryan Kilberg ( HS safety from Illinois) would put as at 14.   The most important one is Jacob Gamble the LT from Iowa Western CC.  We need that dude bad.  2020 is going to be rough if we can’t land a few immediate starter Juco tackles.

its crazy how much these kids prioritize relationships. in the end, the vast majority of them will end up liking their coaches and their situation no matter where they go play.
by the end of their first month in any program they will know their new coaches better than any of the coaches that were recruiting them for 2 years.
it also allows the coaches not the recruits to determine where recruits go because the coaches just have to behave the way they think the recruits want them to behave to get recruits. then the coaches can be whoever they want to be after the kids sign. i would direct my kid to mainly use information he gathers on own or from coaches as well as his favorite location to make the decision. and not let what the coaches say be the primary factor
