Everything I have heard/read has Starling going in the first 2 rounds of the MLB draft next year. Seriously doubt he plays college football until after he plays pro baseball. (Or ever, for that matter.)

He's going to the draft. In other news, I have heard that Garden City CC running back Ryan Smith has transferred and will start watching from the sidelines next season.

Don't expect him to get much PT other than MAYBE special teams though.

Junior College Players showing interestZach Stoudt, QB- http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/football/recruiting/player-Zack-Stoudt-113602;_ylt=AiK85FEjCqpzXRgvDzlKs1LnsJB4
Joining the list of recruits this weekend in Norman was Tulsa (Okla.) Cascia Hall inside linebacker Conner Sherwood. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound prospect has been a known name since starring as a freshman for the Commandoes but has really seen his name grow since the start of his junior year. Of course that coincides with the time frame in which coaches from across the country could begin to actively recruit him. This weekend though he got his first up close look at the in-state Oklahoma Sooners. Interestingly though unlike many around the Sooner state Sherwood didn't grow up with ties to either of the Big 12 South teams residing near I-35."It was a great time. OU looked great. I talked to their wide receivers coach Jay Norvell before the game," said Sherwood."I'm actually from Kansas. My parents went to Kansas State so I haven't really been an OU fan growing up. But they have grown on me and being at the game and seeing the stadium and atmosphere was really cool." As for the increasing interest in the junior inside linebacker? "Mostly I've been hearing from Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. Most of the schools are recruiting me as a linebacker but I've also been told that could change by some as well," he explained.Surprisingly the family school, Kansas State, has yet to have much contact with Sherwood. While it figures to only be a matter of time before that situation changes the Commandoes star also admits that there is no pressure from home to follow in his parents footsteps in heading to Manhattan."They would be really happy if I ended up there (Kansas State) but they will be happy no matter where I end up," he said. And while he still is in search of his first offer Sherwood did admit that he drew many similarities in the two schools that he has taken in home games at. "I had been to Arkansas and then, of course, Oklahoma. They were definitely a lot alike in atmosphere around the game and stadium," he recalled."Oklahoma invited me to the Air Force game as well but I couldn't make that but I'd love to go back down and watch another game if they would like to have me." But perhaps it could be the Sooners and defensive coordinators Brent Venables recent success of producing at the linebacker position that puts them over the top. "That is the one thing I would take a look at before making my decision," said Sherwood, who admitted he has taken note of the Sooners success of producing top-notch linebackers.Cascia Hall (6-1) looks to improve on that record when they travel to Nowata, Okla. (5-2) Friday, Oct. 22.
