pretty cool that we loaded on DITR high schoolers in early in the recruiting season, and have since loaded up on the juco's to address needs. except RB kind of.

We're fine at RB.   Leaveritt will start and be good for us, with Warmack getting some carries as well.  The only spot I'm worried at all about is WR, we need another dynamic option to keep the heat on Lockett down some.

A solid #2 would be nice but we didn't really have one a lot of games and Lockett still went off.

Davis will be a solid 2 if he starts, Sexton is decent.  We'll be fine at WR.

I do too. Wouldn't he be behind Lockett, Davis, and Sams though? That's a great group of 4 either way.

I think Sexton will be at worst the #3 receiver. If one of the other guys moves him to #4 receiver will be not just fine, but really good.

Sexton is great.  He's perfect in the slot, and there's no reason he shouldn't be the starter in a 3-WR set.

Lockett/Davis/Sexton is a good combo.  There's no 6'3" guy in there, but whatever.

Which is why I don't understand why people (Limestone) are so concerned about WR. Honestly, if we get Quintavious Knight, I don't think there's a "weak" position on the roster.

I am wondering about TE though. Who will play there besides Trujillo?

WR's are fine, a strength, IMO.  But what about long snapper?

WR:

Curry Sexton
Vernon Vaughn
Judah Jones
Tyler Lockett
Kyle Klein
Stanton Weber
Deante Burton
Andre Davis
LeAndrew Gordon
Daniel Sams ???

i think there's enough here to be a solid group.

I think we should be solid at OL and WR. Hopefully all of these juco defensive guys end up being great. Then we would just need Waters to get a whole lot better than he was last season and one of our RBs to step up and be better than Hubert, and we should be able to go win the Big 12.

You don't go from 7-5 to Big 12 champs without making huge improvements throughout the team, and QB is the most important position on the team. We need Jake to be better, and we need to improve at RB, too. Simply finding an equal replacement to Hubert won't be enough. The Big 12 looks pretty tough right now.

i think he means play more like he did at the end.  I would like him to be a bit better than that tho.  Needs to improve presence in pocket, short throws, running A LOT.  They were showing improvement tho so

I don't think Waters' end of season performance had nearly as much to do with him getting better as it did with him just playing against a bunch of bad teams, but yeah, if he can be as good against the good teams next year as he was against the bad teams this year, that would be a huge leap in performance, and I think that would be enough.

He'll improve no question. But he doesn't need to make drastic improvements.

Maybe, but we need Jake to be a whole lot better than just "doesn't suck" if we are going to win the Big 12. We have a lot of improving to do if we are going to get there from 8-5.

I expect him to get better. What Snyder QBs don't? Better question. When has Snyder ever had a QB who was great in his first season. They always make huge leaps after year 1.

He does need to make drastic improvements though Sunny to win the conf, he was horrible against KU and we shouldn't take too much out of the Mich game, even though he was excellent in it.  He was ok against OU, so three bipolar performances in a row, let's hope the Mich game is the standard.
