I've seen nothing in his tweets that lead me to believe Combs is (truly) favoring KU.  True. AND Combs and Delva are buddies. Me thinks they wanna play together, hence the #2013Dreamteam tag

Delva is down to two, but I don't know who the second one is (since it's behind the Rivals pay wall). Oregon State

Nash has us in his final group.  He still has a visit to OSU, I think.  Even if he goes to Stoolwater, I believe we win.  I believe more strongly that he doesn't go on the trip.

Marshall was pretty much down to KSU, Tech, and Indiana.  Well, I think our chances look better by the day.  Marshall, Riyhad Jones, and Rod Coleman all trip to KSU this weekend.  Word is they lean KSU.

And Waters is down to KSU and Penn State.  With late interest from Texas and Alabama.  Coin flip on this one, but looking like we lead after this weekend.

So, we complain about not going after kids with offers, and when we do, we flip out when they trim their lists and leave us as finalists?

God, this board is just astounding sometimes.

I wonder why a dual threat QB would choose Tech. I guess to have something like Missouri has with Franklin? Constantly in the spread and running it if the D overcommits to the WRs?

Johnny Manziel runs pretty much the same offense that Tech does (or did. Who knows what the new coach will run?).

Random guy on the other site ("the other site") is saying he has a decent source that says Nick Ramirez is leaning KSU, and it's down to Mizzou and KSU.

Another random guy on the other site ("the other site") is saying Zach Hannon is decommitting from Nebraska, and "may be headed our way."

I say we chloroform these guys, have our witch doctors hypnotize these fools when they're passed out, and have them think they're already committed when they wake up. This has worked for m.... I hear it works for certain people who need certain things.

Snyder would be a convincing Old Man of the Mountain.

he good.  if you watch his video you think, "a 6'4 280lb dude shouldn't be able to move like that (unless he wears a KSU unit)": http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1170076/highlights/18751395
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

I bet Willis is helping convince his teammate Hannon to bring it to KSU!  Hopefully he is also reaching out to fellow KC cruit Ramirez.

Is Michael Smith a good recruiter?  Seems like he would be.  I love his sideline demeanor.

depends on who it is.  this is why you assess needs, look at the numbers, and match them up with the prospects.  that is why posts such as the one saying "I'd sign all of these quarterbacks and, derp, it would be a good idear"....is not a good idear.

Of course.  KSU units are naturally bigger/better than other units.

Are we just going to stockpile Juco guys here or do we even go after any more hs recruits (other than ones from small town usa kansas that may be a walkon or greyshirt)?   :dunno:

Also, surely we would not take 2 juco QB's, right?  Who would you guys rather have b/w the 2? What if Marshall commits after this weekend, do we then tell the Iowa college guy to stick it?

'Hatter, is the idea of "counting back" something that can be used this year, and if so, what is it?  I count 4 grayshirts from last year, leaving 21 spots for this year.

27 but more than likely two of those spots will go to Akinola and Clement.  Yes, there are 4 greys: Small, Seiwert, Jones, and Vaughn.

27-6 = 21.

We have 9 current commits though I think it's possible someone like LeAndrew Gordon is a grey.

21-8 (9) = 13 (or 12)

needs:

QB (2): Ertz
RB (0)
FB/H-Back (0)
WR (3): Vaughn and Jones
TE (1): Small
OL (4 or 5): Clement, Allen, and Seiwert
DT (4): Akinola
DE (4): Willis and Wood
LB (4 or 5): Williams
Secondary (5 or 6): Green, Jackson, and Moore.

How did you get 27 instead of 25? I thought the initial counter limit was 25.  Also, Akinola and Clement are listed on the official roster, does that not mean they counted against the 2012 initial counter limit?  What am I missing?

Clement and Akinola didn't make it and those were unfilled.  You do get that you can sign kids at semester and count them back or forward?  That is how some will take over 30 this year.  I apologize if I was unclear but I kind of thought everybody knew this stuff already?

I honestly don't know how the counting forward and back works, that's why I asked you in my original post.  Also, I thought they did make it since they are on the roster.  If they didn't make it, I'll take your word on it.

Word is Texas is going to offer Waters.

So, there's that.
Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Kirk Bohls:

Quote
2. Texas is apparently focusing on recruiting junior college quarterbacks and especially Iowa Western dual threat Jake Waters, who completed 73 percent of his passes and threw for 39 touchdowns with only three interceptions for the national champions. With the midterm enrollment of Tyrone Swoopes, Mack Brown will have five quarterbacks on campus. If Texas signs Waters, I would assume a current quarterback would transfer. Just sends a horrible message, especially to sophomore starter David Ash. Very curious about the Longhorns' offensive identity going forward.
