I don't think it has to do with a coach saying "Hey kid, don't go to KSU".

Probably more of a "KSU coach wanted to stop by after practice to see a kid but I told them we didn't want any distractions before state but its totally cool if the mizzou or KU coach wants to stop by"

I think this is plausible.

Also, hasn't Wier always been pro-KU/anti-KSU?  I know we got Sproles, but other than that, I think he was always a very pro-KU guy.  And even then, if the old stories were true, he was pushing KU hard to Darren.

Looking back on the past few years, we suck at instate also, just this year it seems the talent pool is a tad larger. Missing out on Swain really hurts.

Kinda ITK on this one.

The old HC at Olathe north, Pete Flood liked KSU. However, the assistants under him felt like KSU didn't give some of their previous studs much of a look (victor simmons, james franklin etc..) even when north tried to get their attention. So they would end up at KU or Pitt State. The new (returning, old HC) guy Weir listens to the assistants more and gives KSU a much colder shoulder when they come knocking.

So yeah, faking interest in players we don't actually want would probably go a long way in getting ones that we do want. Errol Clark sounds like the same deal.

Which assistants? Very itk on most of them.

Why would any coach try to push their players to a clearly inferior place?  eff a coach who would do that.

No, not that one. Though this is probably a good place for a tutor joke.

Anyway, the other Josh Moore (a TE) visited K-State over the weekend for the TCU game. I was not aware of that until today, so sorry if it was already posted. I'll have more on Josh a little later.

Thats why I wonder, I doubt the validity of anti kstate sentiment among the assistants.

I think it's weird that head coaches where teachers at some schools.   Neither my football or baseball HC was even employed by the district.
