k-state needs to continue to be innovative if it wants to be a model intercollegiate athletics program. so, here's what i think john currie should do:
-he should hire gottlieb. that's a given.
-he should hire brad underwood.
-gottlieb will be hired as the head coach
-underwood will be hired as the head coach
-at the introductory press conference, schulz flips a coin. heads is gottlieb, tails is underwood.
-let's say it's gottlieb. he gets to be head coach first.
-gottlieb coaches the opener. once - or if - he suffers two straight losses, underwood becomes coach.
-once underwood loses two straight, it's back to gottlieb.
this creates an innovative incentive-based head coaching program (bonuses included!) and also gives k-state the opportunity to develop two coaches at once. that way, if when one of them bails on ksu, the replacement coach is already in waiting, and has presumably already proven himself.
BOOM!
