Bill Reiter:

Made calls today & heard this doozy: Frank Martin, while trying to decide what to do, was told by LHC LHC Bill Snyder he should "get the hell out."

What have we done to deserve this?

I like Undy... don't get me wrong... but isn't he like the perfect cross between McNeck and Doc? Doesn't he have the potential to become the most SLTHy of all SLTHs?

I'm scared.

I'm okay with Unds in this respect because he's slimy enough to still cheat.

SNYDER: 'RUN, FRANKIE, RUN!
K-State football coach chases Martin out of town
in attempt to save him from evil, control freak AD

"John Currie is in a rush to find a replacement for Martin," a source told the goEMAW Times. "Why? Because
he's desperate to make a name for himself by forcing out the legendary Snyder too. Oh, and Snyder will fight him."

Scheme Doctor just sharpening his claws.
Yep, this is going to work out perfectly for OB.

Currie destroys KSU hoops by getting rid of Frank and the subsequent SLTH hiring gives Currie next to zero leverage in the HCSS war that is coming up.  Diabolical OB wins again

Weren't you done like half an hour ago?  That's even shorter than when beems says he's quitting!  Nice to have you back.

He has been a head JUCO basketball coach. Twice.

Huggs brought him as DOB to help get Blake Young.

Not even close to being a McNeck/Doc type.

Is that supposed to be a good thing? I'm confused.

LHC Bill Snyder: Sean is going to replace me as head coach, John.
John Currie: LOL. That's not going to happen Old Balls.
LHC Bill Snyder: You don't want to cross me.
John Currie: :goes back to dicking around on the computer: Okay, Bill.
LHC Bill Snyder: :leaves Currie's office fuming:

I'm assuming this is why OB hates Currie.

So he's an Altman type? Altman was a juco guy brought on for Mitch, right? How'd that work out for us?

Not necessarily, but its a much different world than coming up in the ranks for small colleges like Doc/McNeck. IMO.

Yeah, that would basically confirm that we are completely toxic to anyone with a resume.

not sure but at first glance i'd say Mitch went on to be baller in the league, could be wrong though

How'd it work out for us when Altman was then promoted to HC.

yeah, but steve dave sent me some private messages and moved heaven and earth to keep me here. he told me what i was doing wasn't right and wasn't fair and told me that no other message board would love me as much as goEMAW.

then he asked me how often i knew what i was doing was wrong, and still did it anyway. i told him all the time.

but the synder anecdote was too good.

Not real good for us, but Altman has proven to not be a terrible coach over time.

But I think the basketball world is much different now than it was then too.

BTW, Underwood is not my first choice, or even close to it. But he's a better option than lots of others I've seen.

Altman wasn't promoted. He had left for Marshall the year before.  He had just turned 30, he had a porn stache, and he stomped up and down the sidelines like Ron Prince asshat. He didn't know what he was doing. It could have been far worse and Altman has proven to at least be decent since then.

45 year old Underwood isn't comparable to the 30 year old JUCO coach we hired 22 years ago.

So your argument is basically that Altman of Today would be a decent hire. I vehemently disagree.

VEHEMENTLY.
