All he had was that one good year at Texas wherever.

It was Texas San Antonio, correct? Something like that? Or was it that Islanders Texas school?

Rake, Bilas would obviously be great.  But he's not making his coaching debut in Manhattan.  I would take Jeff Capel ahead of any of the Boyle/Jank/Henson trio of people who I would burn this place to the ground if we hired.

to say ksu basketball (yes baskteball, not the whole athletic dept) is going to come out of this for the better is border-line delusional

"Borderline"? You're being generous.

Let's assume for a second that Tad Boil isn't unproven, let's say he is a winner and an excellent coach.  I don't like that he isn't a guy that wins and would be invited to sit on the set of ESPN and CBS every year.  He's like Kevin Stallings in training.  The most important thing Frank brought this program is brand image and recognition, it's a shame we aren't going to capitalize on that.  Good bye coaches with national exposure, good bye Big Monday and Gameday.  Hello regular appearances on the U.

 you'll pretend to like the hire and you know it, and if enough people here pretend to like it chum or michigancat will take the contrarian position and hate him...round and round we go

I'm ready for the PI!

I am of the impression that given the state of the program now, the addition of the BTF, and the core in place. That it will not be the hardest thing in the world to maintain where we are now. I'm not saying anyone could do it, I also don't think you have to be a exceptional coach to do it either. I will be pissed if any former KSU players are hired. Unless it's Undy and he's a stopgap until someone better comes along.

I just want a coach with a good/decent track record, nationally known name, someone I've rough ridin' watched coach a good team before. I don't think we need a homerun hire to maintain where we are. You can define homerun however you want. I would love to have Pearl, Williams, Pastner, etc. I would be ecstatic if we did. At the very least I want a coach that can maintain where we are now and show signs of taking the team to an elite eight every 5 years or so.

That's where my sights are. I'm not very hbbiq or hbbciq.
