Then why did Currie push Frank out?! I thought he had something up his sleeve. If he pushed frank out and has nothing big up his sleeve he needs to be fired today.

Including bonuses, this year Boyle made just of $1M (http://www.coloradodaily.com/ci_20225401/tad-boyle-not-interested-nebraska-coaching-job?source=most_viewed#axzz1qK6I63sz)

Tad recently told Nebraska to GTFOMF, and Nebraska was rumored to offer Marshall $2M...who knows if they offered Boyle that much.

I am guessing we'll have to pay him $2M to "get" him.

I don't want Jankovich, nor Steve Henson.  oscar Pearl is possible but unlikely.  Tad Boyle will do for me I guess.  Damn you Currie. :chainsaw:

It won't be Pearl.

Tell us who it will be, Cap'n!

It is going to be Unds.

Pros: He will keep the team together, may even hold Upshaw
He knows the league, opposing coaches
He knows the donors and I guess they like the
Cheap enough so Currie can put away more rainy day money
Keeping him would be biggest way for Currie to fire a huge shot in his war with Frank.

Unds = Helen.

The hair that launched a thousand ships.

I am talking myself into Unds.

More Pro's:
He wants to be here
He'll never leave us
The townies will really rally behind him
He's not a minority

Could never be excited about Tad.  Would rather have some crap Valley coach to make fun of than slightly getting my hopes up of finishing 3-6th in the conference once in a while.

FROM GOOD TO TAD
K-State had it made under Martin, but fan base's emotions
will Boyle over if SLTHy, uninspiring Buffs coach is hired

"Kansas State will spend the next five years swimming in irrelevance if Boyle is hired,"
a source told the goEMAW Tribune. "They should listen to Rake and target Chris Mack, the guy
who looks like a cancer patient. Also, oscar Pearl is not realistic. Stop wasting energy."

Why can't we fire Currie before he makes a hire? We need to fire him.

If its a Jank/Henson type, Currie may as well keep Underwood and try to maintain as much as the current program as possible. I don't think he'll do that.

My standard is to at least make an attempt to replace what Frank was; a solid coach who was going to get you upper half league finishes and NCAA tournaments. There simply aren't a lot of guys like that out there that K-State could get. Looking around college basketball, I'm talking about guys like Stallings, Mack, Dunphry, or even Pastner or Cronin. Unfortunately, I think for K-State a somewhat proven guy who isn't necessarily a league winning coach is probably out of our league, unless Currie is willing to throw out $2.5 mil a year or something like that.

The prospects for us just look pretty bleak and the odds of catching an extremely fortunate break like we did with Martin seem slim.

I would love Chris Mack, would be in my top 2 or 3. The track record of former Xavier coaches is outstanding.

All that said, I don't see it happening.

Oh, this is bullshit. Fire John Currie today. I don't even want to let him make a hire any more. It would be one thing if Pearl said no or something, but to not even consider him as an option is completely unacceptable. eff John Currie.

Yep. How can you simply not consider the best realistic option (by a wide margin)? How?

Not sure if this will help you guys, but maybe it will once you calm down a bit: be patient, let some things happen, you may feel better about everything. #teamkstate

Thanks, Cap'n. We'll stay calm.

you forget that Currie and Shultz aren't Wefald.  They won't make a rash hire to try and keep what we have here.  I've been told that the entire staff is going with Martin.  I rate my source as B.

I've been told that with the right hire there are two, maybe three, assistants that want to stay here.

Right hire doesn't nessissarily mean Underroos.

I'd rate my source as one of the afore mentioned assistants. So there's that.

Our best realistic option by a wide margin was to keep Frank.

Anybody that thinks Currie is capable of understanding what our best realistic options are for keeping K-State basketball competitive needs to get their head checked.

So then he's incompetent. Those are the only two options. Either one is a fireable offense.

He gives a crap in a middle to lower tier SEC school kind of way.  But, not like South Carolina.  We don't care as much as South Carolina.

CC, don't just say "It won't be pearl" like that. You have no idea how much that pisses me off. Why would you just say it like that, like it's a done deal?

This is basically what i meant CC.  How can Pearl already be dismissed?  rough ridin' bullshit.
