And counter to that Newsom is essentially indistinguishable from Mitt Romney from a policy perspective.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I don't think the Left has any choice but to move right in the next several elections.  They have to capture some of the barely right voters.

I think the direction the economy is heading gives them the ability to move left.

Trump: "They gave me $600 billion. And that’s a gift... That’s not a loan... There’s nothing to pay back. They gave us $600 billion that we can invest in anything we want.”

Add to this the European commitment to align with US technologies and the purchase of US
defence equipment, and the EU clearly has joined the US camp.

Trump just did something amazing.  He made Europe ally with the US.

The economic and political landscape of Western Europe has remained static since the end of World War II . . . CNS

US based capital goods industries do not face significant competition from highly subsidized European competitors . . . CNS

That's not even including the imaginary $600 billion dollars they gave him personally.

also, can you imagine MAGA reaction if Biden had said this?

Are we nearing another time when the Robert Reich's of the world start tweeting about how the market is not the real economy?

Stay tuned . . .

Are we headed for more rounds of #mockingbird with a Greenspanian "overwrought enthusiasm" theme?

Lick - is the job market being "soft" a surprise?

Viewers of this blog will note that the (approximate) lowest point of continued claims under Pedo Pete was 1.349 million on 6/22/22, this occurred at the height of the Post Covid recovery (also be reminded that #blueanon states imposed the harshest and most draconian measures severely impacting jobs - so trying to flex on a recovery from a crisis greatly enhanced by #blueanon driven policy is just LOL'able).

By the end of Pedo Pete's (alleged) Presidency, continuous jobless claims were at 1.874 million with several cyles prior pushing nearly 1.9 million. Continued jobless have been at 1.8m plus since August '23 with only a couple of short lived seasonal blips taking it below 1.8m.
