Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told CNBC that the U.S. government must receive an equity stake in Intel in exchange for CHIPS Act funds.

How has Lutnick not been shown the door by now?  Probably because Bessent has had to play IRS head on top of treasury.

10% stake . . . SEIZING THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION!!

Let's just go the #blueanon route and give them hundreds of millions or billions of dollars. Seemed to be the preferred with politically connected and very very failed "green" energy entities.

In other news - looks like the #blueanon msm usuals are starting up a mockingbird effort about overwrought investor enthusiasm (insert Alan Greenspan here) . . . how positively on time and on brand

I have read absolutely zero about this, but my first reaction (well, second, after thinking about it for more than a second) is that Intel might be one of the few instances where it could be workable without desecrating the spirit of Adam Smith, since Intel is already locked in a manufactured duopoly with AMD.

There is certainly no precedence of the federal govt taking ownership stakes in large corps.

I'm not speaking towards the desirability of it. Only the feasibility.

#BlogKaren - please let us know what your hyperventilating go to #blueanon media says about this thing with Intel.

I am sure they’re suddenly free market zealots - as #blueanon tends to temporarily skew when they’re not getting their way on everything

Like I said, I haven't checked out anyone else's takes. My sources are my own.
