Don't get too excited about a ground breaking. I have been a part of jobs that have had 3 or more ground breaking ceremonies over a period of time that can span 1, 2, or 3 years.
Ground breaking usually means a bunch of 'tucks with gold shovels turning over a small amt of dirt for cameras, some cake, some drinks, and that is it. The ceremony is nothing.
They are a little bit of a joke in the industry(at least the company I worked the majority of my career with).
