I don't remember the exact words, but he wasn't just saying that. Especially when he went on to talk about Kelly (with Samuels) being the key players for the rest of the season when asked who the key was from here on out. Also talked about how much better they had played since Curt and Jamar have been playing together.

your move John
That is pretty much how I heard it.
I have no knowledge of the inner workings of the department (for the most part), nor do I know the existing positions of the parties involved.
I will say this...
If Currie is leaning towards dropping Curtis indiscriminately because he failed the policy, he is not going to be the kind of AD that's going to succeed at a larger program. He may be good at raising money, and he may be good at connecting with his fans, but at some point, when you close the doors of your office, and you have the big boy discussions about how to deal with 'the talent', it's not black and white. In athletics, like ANY business in the world, some people are more valuable than others, and sometimes, you have to put up with some crap.
There are lines that need to be drawn. You can't beat women. You can't go around and physically assault people over and over again. You can't commit a felony.
However, if we're talking misdemeanors, let's get real; if you're a financial company, you aren't going to fire your whiz kid because he gets busted for smoking weed a few times if he's making you a lot of money. Rules are not rules for everyone. If you're really, really valuable, they're guidelines.
Anyway, that's all I have to say about that.
