Best Director Nominees for 2011 Oscars
« on: February 03, 2011, 11:32:00 PM »
Who do you think should win?

Aronofsky for "Black Swan", David O. Russell for "The Fighter", Tom Hooper for "The King's Speech", Coen Brothers for "True Grit" or David Fincher for "The Social Network".

I haven't seen "The Social Network" yet, but I really hope Aronofsky wins (even though I love Fincher). I feel like this is Aronofsky's one shot at winning it, because he'll soon go back to his too-dark-for-people-to-appreciate movies like "Requiem for a Dream" after deciding that he hates the spotlight.

I haven't seen "The King's Speech," but I have seen all of the others, and between those, I would go with Aronofsky.

hey guys, i'm an actor.  it's super tough, this job of mine.  i get paid a ton- basically more than anyone else in the entire world does.  everywhere i go i get treated like royalty.  men wish they were me and women want to be with me.  i get crap given to me, just to use it, or eat it, or drink it. i eff the hottest girls, do the best drugs, live in the best places, and dictate everything that happens in my life.  people drop to their knees to satisfy me and i can not give two shits about any of it.  so anyways, this job, we need to recognize each other several times per year.  because doing this and living like this, it deserves recognition.  a lot of recognition.  and i'm not talking about your standard "good job" pat on the back.  i'm talking about being rewarded on prime time television, on the biggest networks, in front of hordes of my biggest fans, so the world can thank me for how well i do my job.  because i rough ridin' deserve it.

:flush:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

You know athletes get treated the same way, right? And they give out best coach, best team, best athlete, best defensive player, etc in each conference and in the nation each year? And they are on prime time television, on the biggest networks, and in front of hordes of their biggest fans? And you're so interested in this idea of sports that you spend about 20 hours a day on a site just to discuss your interest in sports with other people who share that interest? So if you're going to say it is stupid to be interested in movies, then how do you justify being interested in sports?
