I appreciate Winn's use of quality stats.

Our first 4 road games in the league we were terrible. Our highest PPP was barely over .9, and we gave up > 1.0 PPP in each game. I'm not sure how much better we are now, but I'd say we'd perform much better in several of those if the team was playing with its current mentality.

I've been waiting on this, I was curious as to what kenpom would say.

FWIW, our average home efficiencies vs teams rated 150 or better in kenpom is 1.095 to .897 with an average score of 76-62.

On the road its .953 to 1.027, average score of 64-69.

I'm skeptical about Missouri or K-State doing much in the NCAA tournament this year, given that their efficiency levels drop off a cliff once they leave home.

The most surprising part of this is looking at aTm. Not real good at home, worse on the road (although not a huge change b/w the two) yet here they are with 3rd all but locked up. I know it's indicative of them winning so many close games, but I guess the 3rd seed in the conference is almost always a lot less "average" in that statistical category.

aTm has done an amazing job being consistent, and you've got to give Turgeon some credit for that. He's basically Doc-ed up games, but has a few better players, especially Middleton. They play the slowest pace of any team in the league and are solid at pretty much everything.  Their best wins are Washington, MU, and us; so they aren't exactly world beaters, they've just avoided the losses like we had to CU and OSU.

I'd guess they'd be a prime team to be a 4/5/6 seed in the dance to get beat in the first round. I'd love to be able to play them in the Big 12 tournament, but its very unlikely.

i'd really like it if kstate could beat mu in the efficiency standings.  with vs ku and vs isu, a tie seems likely (rounded #)s, but i don't want a shared title.  i hope the players understand what's at stake when they're up 15 at the half.
