The phone will lose a third of its battery sitting overnight with the GPS, WiFi, and 4G turned off.

Yeah, no. I don't know who the hell "MobileCrunch" is, but he clearly got a defunct battery.

You should be able to get a slightly bigger one that uses the regular back for the phone.  I got one for the Incredible that is about 20% bigger and it helps quite a bit.

O-Town Cat, you may have a PM coming if/when I pull the trigger on this phone.

The HTC Evo 4G, based on Google's Android 2.1 operating system, goes on sale from Sprint June 4 for $199 with a two-year contract. Though the device burns through a battery quicker than a knife through warm butter, there's no denying the Evo's 4.3-inch screen is gorgeous. Those who thought the HTC Droid Incredible's screen, at 3.7 inches, was large will be duly impressed. Our reviewer at eWEEK watched ESPN Mobile clips on the Evo's Sprint TV app running in the locally available 3G mobile service and was impressed by the color and clarity. Here's a look at how Sprint TV and other apps look on the new device.

Apparently Walmart will be selling the EVO tomorrow for $199, getting your rebate instantly rather than having to mail one in. Just puttin that out there

Really wanted an EVO, as I live in an area with beautiful 4G signals washing me in radiant warmth, but full Exchange support doesn't exist.  So poop.

It's the way that a lot of companies push email/contacts/calendars to mobile devices.  Some support exists now, but most enterprise IT departments require that the mobile device support security features that aren't in Android, at least through 2.1.

you can root it to 2.2
http://techie-buzz.com/mobile-news/htc-4g-evo-rooted-android-froyo.html

i also think i read that htc will have 2.2 froyo support for the evo by july, not an issue

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Knowing my company's IT department, it's probably going to take them a year before they catch up with 2.2.  Of course, that's my problem, not Sprint/Google/HTC.

It might happen, but I'll believe it when I see it.  HTC has been wicked slow with the Hero update.

be sure and turn off 4G, wifi, and bluetoof radios if you aren't using them.
or better yet, just turn off the radios you aren't using.  - also i think the batteries are delivered only half charged?
