Twitter is basically forcing you to use their Twitter app instead. They don't want any 3rd party apps because they don't show sponsored tweets or hashtags.

I'm available for upgrade in June. Will there be a next big thing by then or should I hold off until around Thanksgiving? Thoughts?

the GS4 doesn't have a firm date yet and now speculation is that it will be around then.
also talk of a GS4 mini too.
I wonder if when the next update to apple will be.

What carrier? As far as waiting until thanksgiving, only do that if you want the iPhone 5s if you want a Nexus (google phone). There are always good android phones around the corner, but the big ones - Samsung GS4 and HTC One - have already been announced.

The mini specs are very mid-rangey.

The last 2 iPhones have been released October and then September. There's a good chance it will be around the same time this year.

Also should note that I don't customize my phone (or haven't with any previous phones) we have an iPad and I'm not a huge fan of iOS. A SII would probably blow me away as far as performance of the phone.

Just got an lg optimus g from sprint, bestbuy has it for $49 and it has pretty much the same specs as the s3 but imo a much better screen.

Looks like the GS4 will be out on Tmo May 1st, so it seems reasonable that by later that month-July all 4 carriers will have it rolled out. Though, when I got my GS2 (think I was the first in Manhattan to get it for Sprint) Sprint took longer than the other 3 if I remember right in getting it. They announced it in May, got it mid September, worst wait ever for a phone

the different companies go through extensive testing after loading their software on the phones, sometimes this leads to delays in releases. tmo also might not have promised to order as many and so maybe were told they had to wait, dunno.

Yeah, I know about all the testing, I think I just felt like I remembered Verizon was able to get through their testing rather systematically, and Sprint kept on having issues.

Did Verizon even get a GSII? I don't think they did, and instead got a Galaxy Nexus in December...

The European version of the GSII was released in May. Maybe that's what you are remembering.

I don't think I want an iphone. I like the music players available on Android. Thanks for the tip, though.
