it takes a special tool to open the tray on the side of the iphone.  i think you can just use a paperclip in the hole and the tray should pop out, there's a lot of crap on the google dataserver if you look it up.

i don't think you can use both SIMs at the same time, i assume the network will register the first one and then see the duplicate and deny it but i'm not certain.  i hope they sent you micro sims.

Lots of cool things happening in the smartphone world yesterday. Windows Phone 8 fully detailed, and with it 3 really nice phones. Samsung Ativ S, HTC Windows Phone 8X, and Nokia Lumia 920. Google also announced Android 4.2 to go along with their new nexus lineup. LG Nexus 4 (phone), and Samsung Nexus 10 (tablet). The price point on those last two is really astounding. Very high end devices for not a lot of cash.

Yes. Disappointing. Though I understand why Google left it out.

And I'm not so sure 'clams. I think the Verizon LTE nexus was a failed experiment. There is no global standard for LTE like there is for GSM/HSPA. For Google to make LTE work in North America, Japan, and Europe, they would need multiple versions with different radios. It goes against the idea of the Nexus line being unlocked and available to use on universally accepted standards.

You sound like somebody who can solve the handful of problems I'm keeping on a list since my phone updated.

maybe so but releasing a domestic phone with only t-mobile/att radios also seems like a recipe for a failed experiment.

Same thing happened with the Galaxy Nexus. When the CDMA versions come out, they'll have LTE.

Google isn't trying to sell a billion nexus phones. None of the past iterations have been best sellers. First off it's about providing a great developer phone. Second it's about raising the bar and showing what's possible with Android hardware. And finally it's about building a phone that works in conjunction with the latest version of Android. Google brings the hardware manufacturer in house and they work together to build a good phone. Google won't advertise this phone like might deserve, and they the carriers don't have any incentive to advertise either.

It's not supposed to beat the iPhone. That's what the GS3 is for.

raising the bar and releasing a phone without LTE seem to contradict each other, but hey, that's just me.

:flush:

like i said, failed experiment, just like your failed attempt at excusing the piece of garbage

Lol. I'm not excusing crap. This isn't the best Android phone on the market. That is disappointing.

I already have a HTC One X. An excellent phone that came out 4 months ago. I wouldn't trade it for a Nexus 4.

What's amazing is what LG and Google are able to bring to the table at the price point they set. 299 off contract is just silly. Best deal for any phone off contract, and it's not even very close.

Yeah, you're def gonna have to take an assessment of my phone situation Thursday night.  Maybe I'll be in position to have MIR break the crap out of my current one by Sunday.

It's awesome. It's a very nice feature on the nexus 4

It kills me to say this, because I wanted to own this instead of an iPhone 5, but no. No you shouldn't. It's too big and heavy. It's not fun to own. It's not enjoyable to use.

kind of a dumb reason not to like the phone, too heavy?  i think the iphone 5 feels kind of cheap b/c it's so light compared to the 4s.
