Probably already covered, but I couldn't find it.  How's the LTE (Sprint specifically) in Manhattan?  Like does it get flooded to where I can't send text message during a game?

I don't know about texts, but I know for sure you wont be able to make calls over LTE. So you will have the same problem as everyone else.

Got the 4S 16G . . . went to store, did side-by-side comparo's, meh, just not that much of a difference, and the 4G has now bearing on my decision because I just don't use that much data. 

So far I'd have to give the Iphone user experience a 5 on a 10 scale, I hope I get used to it.

The new Motorola Phone with the slide out keyboard is looking a lot better right now, and I wish there would have been some Windows 8 phones available to look at.   

Not a fan of Apple.

We'll see if this thing lasts for the whole 30 day trial period.

if you're not a fan of apple i don't understand why you'd dumbass out and buy an apple product but hey that's just me. 
who knows.  i guess if i hated to eat indian food and then went to a place where i had to eat indian food everyday of my life, all day, people would prob be confused too, but hey that's just one analogy and there are probably a ton of them that you can  use against mine in defense of your decision.

I was pretty meh on apple before I owned an iphone because the only apple device I'd ever owned was an ipod. I am very pro-apple now.

Upgraded from the 4S to the 5 and can say through 2 weeks I prefer the 4S. The 5 is long, skinny, and  does feel weird in your hand as pissclams confirmed. It's very fragile, just taking it in and out of my pocket there are scratches all over it after only 2 weeks. IMO soley increasing screen height wasn't the way to go, would have preferred a wider screen as well. I love iPhones and was due for an upgrade so it doesn't bother me that I got the 5 but I wouldn't advise anyone to overpay for it, simply not worth it. A cheap 4S would probably be the smartest thing to do. The LTE is noticeably faster but the service in the KC area at least is spotty at best and bad in Manhattan.

Confirm no scratches on my 5.  Maybe take the gravel out of your pockets.

It's sandpaper in one pocket and gravel in the other, so you both are correct. Just trying to point out the the new aluminum backing seems to be more susceptible to scratches/nicks than the glass backing of the 4S if people care about that sort of thing (I don't). Sometimes people put keys in their pockets, jerks.

Keys in opposite pocket as phone? Don't believe in a case?

Now, I don't advocate one of those ridiculously huge cases that will protect your phone from being dropped from a plane, but I use a minimal soft case and really like it. I plan to get a similar one when I upgrade to iPhone 5.
