i'm more excited for the software running on it than the hardware itself which to me was a little disappointing.

ICS looks great. What was disappointing about the phone? I love the screen and the power behind it.

i'm sure the GS2 will have ICS sometime in 2012, probably 1Q.  the GS2 doesn't have a keyboard either though.
I thought the AT&T one does.  :dunno: The website and googling says it might. Maybe I should just go to the store.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

The only advantage Siri has is it can process more natural language, virtually anything you can siri you can accomplish with the voice search on android (sans solving calculus problems from wolfram alpha)

COOL!

The Android voice stuff is not bad, but I was never was able to tell my Android phone "remind me to _______ when I get home" or "add ______ to my calendar".

maybe disappointing is the wrong word.  the software stole the show.

I believe you are thinking of the Captivate Glide. While actually a pretty decent phone, especially for 99$, isn't a GSII.

I'm not a cell phone insider but was looking to get some advice on my 1st smart phone purchase. I was trying to decide on one of these 3:

Motorola X2
HTC Thunderbolt
HTC Incredible 2

I have verizon if that helps, anything about any of these 3 phones that I should stay away from, or other better phones I should be looking at. (Not interested in the latest and greatest, I just want a good, reliable smart phone)
I'm purple down

I'll sell you my 1-year-old Droid X, ready to go on Verizon w/o committing to a contract, if you don't need 4g.

I can get the X2 for $100 (new), I don't need 4G cause I live in Topeka  :frown: What's the main difference between the X and X2? I'll give you $15  :dunno:

No 2-year contract.  And getting whatever extra batteries and cases and whatever else is sitting on the table in the other room.

Go ahead and rule out the Thunderbolt. It's been having a lot of issues and battery life is really bad.

Yeah, you don't want the Thunderbolt.

If you are willing to go Incredible 2, you may as well go with the iPhone 4. JMHO. Neither are 4G, but the iPhone 4 is $99 while the Incredible 2 is $149. X2 is also not 4G, but the same $99 price as iPhone 4.

Granted, if you like Droid over iPhone that's cool. Both are good, I've just become partial to iPhone since I switched. For example, I can get an ESPN radio stream pretty much anywhere, even when I drop out of 3G coverage areas. When I was on Android I had all kinds of issues with ESPN radio.

Pretty incredible deal except for this:

The deal only covers new lines of service, so you can't simply extend your contract.
