Are these foldable phones a gimmick or a flashpoint that will spell doom for Apple?

Anybody have experience with Verizon Visible? It's an MVNO (but they don't like to be called that) that's an actual subsidiary of Verizon. I'm not really sure what Verizon's business strategy is for setting up an MVNO that competes directly with the Verizon Prepaid service.

But anyway, Visible offers unlimited talk, text, and data for a $40/mo flat fee, including taxes and fees. Data speed is throttled at 5mbps, and there could be additional data throttling during periods of heavy network use, but the service seems to get good reviews on the data. No wifi calling yet, but I hear that's coming soon.

My wife's year on RedPocket is coming to an end, and that service is much cheaper (about $21.50/mo for unlimited talk, text, and 3GB data if you buy in a 12mo block), but she's been having issues with call audio quality and voicemail.

Can anybody attest to Visible? Call quality?

They set up different MVNO’s to market to different demographics.
The only issue I’d pay attention to is data throttling on the pre-paid networks.  I believe that post-paid traffic gets priority.

Yup, that’s the deal. Doesn’t sound like data throttling has been a big issue, so far. I’m mainly concerned about call quality. I didn’t expect that to be any different for an MVNO, but it was. I’ve got Verizon and my woe has RedPocket. Same network, and RedPocket says they have voLTE, but the call audio quality was significantly worse.

I’m gonna try Visible for a month and see if it’s better.

We pay a little over $40 per line per month for 5 lines with our business.  The plan has unlimited data and I believe the only throttling is on the hotspot data after 10 GB.  The prepaid deal doesn't seem like that much savings.  Of course,  I haven't priced non-business service in quite a few years.

I really like my S10+. It has theft-deterrent properties that aren't available with the iPhone.

i have the most absurdly slipperly phone in the world, and i have actually dropped it less, because you are always ready.

its the safety paradox thing like how you drive crappier when wearing a seatbelt

Works in the dark, fewer instances of failing to recognize, can easily check notifications discretely like under the table (good for work meetings or family dinners), if you’re driving and you want someone to check something or text for you, you can unlock the phone while handling it to them. Probably like 30 other reasons.
