yeah, they worked fine with my droid like 4 years ago too, but that doesn't mean they aren't a pain in the ass compared to normal headphones

whenever I get a new iPhone, which is about once a year, the first thing I do is throw those prepackaged ones away

Well, restricting consumer choice does seem to be consistent with Apple's historical design strategy.

they had 1 kind of iPhone, now they have 2.  They had 1 size iPad, now they have 3.  I mean what in the world are you talking about?

what do you guys think of the rumor that apple won't have a headphone jack on their next iphone?
i think it's one of a million rumors related to the iphone 7, a phone which won't release for another 10 months.
that said, it wouldn't surprise me if they went that direction because they're often ahead of the curve when it relates to i/o.

there was quite a bit of outcry when they quit adding DVD players to their devices.  same with ethernet.
the market has evolved around it. which is exactly what were to happen if apple chose to boot the headphone jack.
suddenly, the bluetooth headphone market would explode and in 2 years we would LOL at the idea of tethering ourselves to our phones in the way we do today.

Maybe I should get some better headphones. I don't want to spend more than 20 though. Isn't there a thread about cheap headphones somewhere?

These are fantastic and would be a huge upgrade over what you're used to. although they won't really block out much noise:

Search head-fi.org for "best iem under 20" and you should have plenty of options if you what ear bud-style phones.

Listening to music with headphones is weird and I almost never do it.  Those people you see just jamming out in public?  Weird.

Anyone kick their carrier insurance for a Square Trade policy?  Dan Patrick had an ad on for their services, and I like the idea of saving some  :th_twocents:.

Does the square trade policy cover theft?  I know the geek squad (Best Buy) does not

I have this pair of headphones that I brought to work. They say Samsung on them so I guess they came with my phone.
Anyway, when I use them to watch a video on my computer, the background music is normal but the dialog is quiet or muted. WTF!
