I love Cartier.  Love him.  But he ain't jersey retiring worthy.  Never was 1st team all conference.  Didn't ever win anything ever.

Beasley ------ Hells Yeah
Bill ------------ I'm gonna say no
Denis --------- Yes

I knew I wouldnt make any friends with that one.

I love love love Denis and miss the crap out of him.  But being the main player (wouldve been very debatable if not for this year) behind one tourny appearance and elite 8 run is not enough to get in the rafters.  If we want to be a second tier school that makes the elite 8 once every 20 years, then eff it, raise it up.  I like to pretend we're better than that :dunno:

Spoken like a guy who wasn't part of an elite group of EMAWs celebrating the crap out of a Q@ win in the middle of the Orleans Casino while draped in the Puerto Rican flag just as Denis and the boys (who would go on to have a great night as instructed) walked by.

I know.  It'd have been just fine for the world to ban sports forever immediately after that.

Steve Henson in a lock.  Askia Jones will probably make it as will Michael Beasley.  Others who may have a chance:

Curtis Redding
Ed Nealy
Norris Coleman (The Sarge)
Cartier Martin
Steve Mitchell
Jeremiah Massey
Denis Clemente

Pullen and Beasley. You should at least be first team all conference and sniff all american.

And Beasley shouldn't even require thought. He was nearly player of the year and should be up there already.

Denis and Bill were both first-team goEMAW all-universe.

Steve Henson in a lock.

For most white shirt tucks who have never left sparsely populated areas of Kansas, yes.

For me, no.

I don't think he should have his number retired.

Not sure why all the Henson Hate going on.  Let's see now:

- The only player in school history to play in four NCAA Tournaments.
- Broke 21 school records.
- Among K-State's top ten players in 41 statistical categories.
- Still owns school records for career free throw percentage (90%), assists (582), and steals (190).
- Was record holder for career 3-pointers until this season when Jacob Pullen broke it.
- Scored 41 points in a game vs Iowa State.
- Hit 92.5% of this free throws in 1988 (111/120).
- Hit 48 free throws in a row at one point.
- Also spent three years on K-State's track & field team as a decathlete.
- Was a key player when I first started following the Cats.

OK, now you guys list reasons you hate him.  Here, let me help:

1.  He's white.
2.  Shirt-tucks love him.

I would refute those two arguments by pointing out that neither of those things are his fault.

Twice Honorable Mention AA and once 1st Team all-conference.
